Story here

I got a call from the body shop...the guy I talked to was cool, he has a new edge GT also with a KB he got done at Apex Motorsports in Santa Clara. He could feel my pain... anyways, the damage to the car was 150% of the car's worth...dang. Totaled.

Anyways, I have narrowed it down...

While a STI or EVO would be nice choices, they are highest in insurance, so I'll probably throw them out.

03-04 Cobras go for ~$29k around here, plus it would be hard to find one that has not been beaten on.

I don't want a Mach 1, I want something different (although the Cobra would have been an exception).

I think I've narrowed it down to these two (both of which I'll probably get flamed on this board )
2006 Mustang GT (a few dealers have clearance GTs left, in manual)
2005 GTO M6

I'm leaning towards the GTO. Yes, I know, wrong badge...but I think the 05-06 model looks nice, and the car has sleeper appeal. Take off the god-awful spoiler...Shave the rear badges (with the 6.0 badge), tack on one-chambers and H-pipe and I'll surprise the hell out of the locals. Their interiors are REALLY nice for a GM...and the 05s seem to be the best year (better than the 04s, and the 06s had strut problems).

There's something about the new Mustang I don't like... I'm not sure what it is, but I feel it would take a lot more money to make it the way I'd want it (for instance, I feel they don't look good without at least 19s... 18s look too damn small on this car, IMO!)

Regardless of what I choose, I'm sticking around here...what other forum has such a great thread on Seafoam?!

sounds good man, glad to hear either way your staying. the o5' goat is nice cuz it's 400hp w/ the 6.0L which is friggin sweet, if you can get like under 20k for an 05 then you'd have enough money left over to put towards intake. tuner. exhaust, and maybe rims. So why not an 05 stang?

Actually I haven't seen any 05 GTs for under 20k here in the bay area...if you see anything let me know (I see you're from north bay)

Thanks guys, the GTO will probably be my choice. Now if only the insurance process could speed up

Thats because it isnt a US GM interior Holden ftw

But seriously I would rock a GTO in a second before any late model stang except a Terminator, but it would have to be the 400hp version.

Sad but true, with the GTO you will get the most power for your money at this time

The GTO's aren't bad....something about the way they look has never really grown on me...not that they're ugly, just not my favorite. 400hp is hard to pass up though. Around here the 05's with good mileage go for about $23-25k. I've seen a couple ads with brand new 06 GT's going for 25k. Its tempted me.

What about the Chargers?

I really like the GTOs as well. They may not be the flashiest cars out there, but 400hp is nothing to laugh at, and its all put together in a sleeper package. More than enough power to steam all the rice you want, along with domestic muscle, and I'm sure a lot of people won't know what hit them unless they really know their cars.

Love the z06s, but around here they go for about 28k for the first year (2001 IIRC?) plus mileage is pretty high.

We'll Smeech it all happens for a reason I guess.
Happy car shopping my friend.I just ordered a brand new
07' Obsidian Black Pearl STI yesterday I am stoked to say the least.
I say go right for a Subaru STI and don't look back.
In my experience my Subaru WRX I had was more dependable
and reliable than my mustang ever was even though I love the
car.I have seen some excellent deals on STI's lately. The best of luck
Smeech.

OR http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...ors=&transmission=&max_price=23000&cardist=85
OR -Kinda odd body kit: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...ors=&transmission=&max_price=23000&cardist=95

I say GTO aswell, unless you find a good deal on a Terminator.

The GTO's look bad ass IMO, plus the newer ones with the LS2 they really haul ass.

So either Cobra or GTO, if neither stay true to your colors and get a Mach 1. I couldnt imagine taking a turn and going STi or EVO, it would feel so strange.
