Looking for some direction

So I bought that green 88 bomber you see in my garage for a decent price back in Feb. It had frame horn damage that I felt was repairable, plus it ran great, shifted great, and drove really well.

The oil pump went out about 2 months after I bought it,so I decided to freashen up the engine and when I got it out, I realized fixing the frame horns would cost more than buying a used shell....

Now Im back at square one...I decided to part the car out, with the exception of the drive train. I want to put it in a 64 1/2-68 mustang. I really like the 66, and that seems to be the most available, so if I find one thats right, I will go with it.

So, my question is....Can I use the 88 pedals and clutch mechcanism in the classic? What else would you recomend I scavenge for the classic?

Im new to mustangs (Always been an F-body guy, please none of this:ban:) and Im still learning a lot.....

Thanks for the input.

You can't use the pedal assembly without tons of fabrication. It's not really feasible to use that setup in a classic, you would be best off buying all the correct parts for the classic.

Once you have the pedal situation out of the way, a T5 swap is super easy. I used the T5, bell housing, clutch kit, and fork from a fox body Mustang in my 68. The only other thing I did was convert to a clutch cable instead of the mechanical linkage, because I was going from a 6 cylinder 3 speed to a 94 351w that didn't have provisions for linkage, and also because I didn't have any V8 linkage parts.
Also don't forget to buy a good T5 swap crossmember.
