I want a little more bass and some new door speakers. I would only want two 10' subs at the most, nothing more. I was wondering what kind are good, does JBL make good speakers? Also, I was thinking of an Alpine head unit. Is there anything I need to know before buying a system?
I agree with his suggestions, but for the amp, I'd give the CDT's, if you choose that route, a little more power, probably around 100+ RMS. Everything else sounds about right, though.
Yeah they really come alive with enough juice...especially the CDT's...its just tough to get an amp that puts out that kinda power if you're on a limited budget.
Alpine makes incredibly good head units. I have owned 2, one I sold to my dad because an Alpine came in the stang. Great head units! As for JBL, I agree with bamagrad03. They dont make the best speakers but they make kick ass mono amps. I owned a bp1200.1, very very good amp. As for subs you might want to think about going with a nice 12" sub with a better signal to noise ratio that can produce more output than two tens could. Audiobahn or Infinity Kappa Perfect or something with a good signal to noise maybe 94 and up should do you good. Good luck with your system
Things you need to know before buying a system
#1) it going to cost a fair chunk of change
I suggest pricing out a system, with everything you want before buying a headunit here and some subs over there
#2) there are alot of hidden costs, like installation if you cant do it yourself, wiring kits, wire, with subs you need an amp, so on and so farth
#3) If you get subs that "pound" pretty hard and you have stock mid's and tweets then your subs are going to dround out your vocals, which in return sucks ass!!!
Lastly if your planning on getting a system do it right the first time cuz it will cost less in the end
I would buy
Headunit( cd player)
A set of good Mid's and tweets
and 2 12" inch subs
Buy 2 amps one for subs and one for mid's and tweets
And then add in the cost of installation, and all that other 'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me'.
As for brands and model numbers and that sort of stuff, I suggest going to a car audio place, and hearing all the stuff thats inside your budget and picking what YOU like best, not what other people like best....... Once you do all that
then come back here, and post to see whether it is anygood or not
