I just got a 2004 YFZ450 ....all I can say is WOW!! 12 years ago I had a former race 89 LT250r quadracer with the normal "bolt on" mods and this new quad kicks it's butt. I bought this new quad from my buddy and he went out and bought a new 2006 YFZ450 and it keeps up stock with my quad that has head pipe, muffler, jet kit, cam trick, and air box lid removed.

Is anyone riding one of the honda 450R's? They seem like they are very solid from what i've read.

if you not looking to spend to much a proven, older quad u should go for a honda 300ex..... it all depends on what you want...... electric start or kick??...... reverse or not....... two-stroke or 4-stroke.... ive ridden almost every quad they make so ill let u know what i think... sold my 04 raptor for a street bike

Honda's are good. I used to race 400ex's. The new Yamaha YZF450's are beasts. My best friend has an 06 model. By a Yamaha and you won't regret it.

I bought a yfz 450 about 3 years ago and I have put about 5 grand into parts so far.....I have houser lt +3+1 a-arms...dura blue axle....h/c pistons...Elka quad rate shocks and tons more.....Its a fully built motocross quad. I have been to daniel boone mx park for nationals in kentucky and placed 5th in the a class.....Loretta lynns i placed 1st in the B class.....Ever since i built the quad i have had banshees...raptors...450r's and a couple other quads try to drag race me and i will blow them away in the straight line especially on the track...Ive been racing quad motocross since i was 12 years old and i am now 19....Ive been through about 10 different quads and I have to say If you are going for a stock sport quad = yfz 450...its a beast. And i am selling my fully built houser 450 for about 9 grand right now
