lost only key HELP!

last night i gave my brother the keys to my car to go get something out of it. somehow he ended up losing them. i have read countless threads over the years about this. is my only option to tow it to the dealer and have new keys programed? about how much is the dealer going to charge?

That or any other Key maker place. Dealer will be around $100 bux each for just a key and another 25ish for the remote.

I have gotten some extra keys from a mobile key maker/locksmith for 50 each with a chip and a dummy(no chip) and another remote for another 25.

Shop around if you dont have too much cash to spend, otherwise you will have to take it to the dealer.

wont the key(s) need to be programmed? (with two keys) and how will they to copy a key that is lost?

As long as you can get into your car, they have a device that can program a key as I believe that all keys are cut a similar way and at the dealer they can cut it the right way for you.

I think. I had a blank (dummy key) as the threads on my old one were getting worn down because of what I do.

This may be more difficult for you, just bring like your license and registration with you so they dont give you a hard time I would guess.
