You're right, because stangs can run 13.8 stock -- without intake..

Yes.. they can, but it's not very common.

I'm not dogging on Mustangs at all.. I own one. But I just hate it when people on this board hate on other cars and put them down when they have no idea what they are talking about. Give credit where credit is due.

I'm not talking about modded stangs...

s2000's are pretty much tuned out from the factory, exhaust, intake, VAFC.. things like that don't really add much hp/tq to those cars, FI is the only really thing worth it..

It was kind of a joke, because stock GT's have with very good drivers hit the same 1/4 times. but toss some drags on there and then say s2wheredidhego?

Eh, I guess I'm just not down the whole internet "joke" thing.

I never said stock GT's could hit the same quarter mile times.

Once again, a modded stang will put lengths on the s2k, but stock vs stock it should be a good race. There's just people on here saying that they smoke s2k's and that they are slow, when indeed it's most likely the driver. The car itself is pretty impressive.

You ride in a car that weighs nothing with over 300 horsepower... It was like a metro on crack!!! Mustangs dont feel like that... And trans ams and camaros always feel slow... I rode in one with NOS and completely built it was an ss... It did nothing for me... Mustangs you get more of a feel but 4 cylinders feel wicked when they got some power!

Vortech has a blower for the S2000. That would level the playing field with a mostly stock Mustang.

Please tell me you're not serious either. My god... A vortech s2k should run low 13's - high 12's

A friend of mine has a Comptech s2k with exhaust and he traps ~108. A stock 99-04 is no more then ~101 stock.. and that's pushing it.

I don't know the exact number's didn't think it was that fast, but then again I just plain don't give a sh#t about it either. S2000 is a nice car for the track. Look nice, but not my cup tea.

Power to weight ratio!

S2000 2850 divided by 240hp = 1hp per 11.875#'s
Mustang GT 3200lbs divide by 260hp = 1 hp per 12.31#'s

Power to weight ratio is on favor of the S2000. I highly doubt if they weigh that much however?

I know they are not torquey but a good driver shouldbe able to work around that.

Are you lost
A bone stock s2000 can run 8.9's in the 8th mile.
A vorteched s2000 would kill a stock mustang.

I don't find that surprising at all. Back when I had my 02 GT a S2000 walked me on the highway past 80 mph.. We took the same exit and he said it was stock. No reason not to believe him.

As far as TC, unless it engaged in the race it would not have affected the outcome. And if it did engage, you would have known it. The little green light wouild have flashed on your dashboard and your car would have bucked. I ran my Mach for fun at the track with TC on for fun, slipped the clutch more so that my rear tires wouldnt let loose on the 1st/2nd shift, I ended up running a 13.6. Heh..

Damn some of you jokers are as bad or worse then the idiots I see on the import boards claiming to smoke Mustangs in their stock Civic SI's.. So much misinformation and ingorance.. A Vorteched S2000 would ream a stock GT..

I think some of you might be feeling a little down that the Honda S2000 might be faster than your stock Stang.. If it is it's by just a hair.
Just think what you guys could have gotton on your stangs if you had paid 33K for it. And hey. you can still get all your groceries have you lady with you and your dog and stil have space for you. not to mention a lower insurance rate. It is because of that the only sports cars I will ever consider buying are Mustangs', Rx8s', GTO(goats) and Maybe one of the two rally awd cars. But Mustangs and RX8's are the only ones I find a good value and reliable. so sue me If I forgot a car in there(I didn't foget that POS neon,I just don't like them ).

S2000's are not fast cars. I hang out with a bunch of Mustangs and about 3 S2000's. All of the '99+ GT's will just rape the S2000's, even the stock ones. Roll, dig, doesn't matter.

I spanked a s2000 from a stop after he tried me a light before. And my brother was in the car. He told me if I did not take him at the next light He would hang his head in shame Peer pressure? That S2000 would of thought he was something special if I was not convinced to light it up. Well he'll think twice about playing with stangs
