Loud And Good Flowing Exhaust?

For a 95 GT. I want a good flowing exhaust and I also want it loud cause I just love the sound of a V8.
I was thinking BBK Long Tubes to a Dr. Gas X-pipe (I'll have cats installed into it but also have test pipes, so I can toss hem in when emissions time comes.) But what mufflers should I use? Any help?

A few things here. First, I don't know of anyone that has passed emissions with longtube headers. Second, longtube headers are 10 times quieter at idle and driving speed than shorties are. IMO, loud exhaust gets old quick. If you want loud, go buy flowmasters. If you want a decent sounding product that isn't going to kill your ear drums, buy anything but flowmasters. MAC and Magnaflow are one of the tops on this board.

I was thinking some MACs. I have Magnaflows on my 89 with a catted x-pipe and long tubes, passed emissions just fine.
I think a friend has MACs on his 4.6.

well, I'm thinking of an O/R H pipe, for the classic sound (and cheaper), but what are some quiet, good flowing mufflers? I dont' want too many cops following me

I have Magnaflows with a Prochamber on mine and it is extremely quiet until about 2500 or so. Unless you give it hell, you really don't know that it has a different exhaust system. I like it. I've heard a MAC system that sounds excellent too. Bassani and Borla are great if you got the cash.

well, Bassani is the loudest in the muffler shootout for the sn-95s... I'm trying to do an H pipe, mufflers and tips for less than $300... possible? (found the H pipe for $115 shipped) (and some good tips for about $100)

I would say that loud and good flowing would definatly be Magnaflow Magnapacks. Regular Magnaflows are sooooooo quiet even with an O/R x.. But Magnapacks scream even compared to my MAC catback.

Man Magnapacks are completely straight threw, when we installed them on my friends 98 cobra you could hold them up and look strait threw them. I would think that would flow pretty damn well. Better than a chambered muffler like my MACs or Flowmasters. I dont have any numbers though maybe someone else can chime in with those.

I hate flowmaster actually. Should be called drone masters.
I have Magnaflow mufflers on my 89, you can see right on through to the other side.

I use dynomax bullets they are loud and flow alot better than a flow master you just need to decide how loud you like. I drive mine everyday and some long road trips as well it depends on what you wanna live with.

i'd condiser an h-pipe with dynomax bullets or magnapacks. i have the bullets and h-pipe, dumped out the side, and it sounds awesome. the bullets and packs are both a straight-through design, flows VERY well. i recommend 2.5" tubing, as well.

for a quieter exhaust, viper, go for some magnaflows. my dad has those on his 351C mach 1 and they aren't too loud. seem to flow nicely, too, considering he's got only 2.25 piping. also, you might consider some turbo mufflers - beefy sound without going overboard, decent flow, and cheap

cops here dont give me any problems (knock on wood) , well when summer comes im sure they will but i hope not, some of the cops around here actually have mustangs so they dont care because their cars are loud too, one even tried to race my friend in his crown vic 4.6 crusier.

ok, so you don't think that an O/R H w/ some magnaflow aluminized mufflers (4x9x14) will be too loud, and still give me good flow huh, cool... thnx a lot guys... now I just need to find a place that sells them cheap (another month of research ahead...)

-I'm gonna get some 3.5" mac tips too I think... just for the look...

-I already have 2.5" piping for exhaust... as far as I can tell anyway...
