Today i went to go get lunch and i started my car and let it warm up for a minute then i started driving. Then i had to get in the left lane and some jackasses wouldnt let me get in front of them so i had to pass the whole group of cars up so i punched it and at aroung 3,000 rpms i hear a loud ass pop. then i was like wtf was that. I looked in the ingine and underneath the car and didnt see anything. What could that have been?

Random pops and pings happen all the time. The key is knowing which ones are bad and which ones are not. Sometimes a loud noise is just a rock hitting the underside of the car. What I would do is see how the car is running and if see if the engine is throwing any codes. Most likely it was nothing, but better safe than sorry. If something serious had happened you probably would already know [I.E. engine blew up = car does not run].

Could have been just a backfire. When my car was N/A it would do that rarely when I would punch the throttle rapidly two or three times, like in first gear. It sounded like a 12ga. going off.

well thats good to know. My tb is chriping now after 2,000 miles i didnt want to have to fix something else.

Yeah, sounds like a backfire. My car does it occasionally, if I use a little too much throttle before the engine is properly warmed up.
