I have a 2002 GT with really loud front power windows. They squeal when going down but really squeal loud coming up.

I havn't taken the door apart yet. I wanted to see if anyone else had this problem, and what could be done.

Thanks!

I have the same problem. It's been more then a year and it gets annoying. Someone suggested that it was something like a small rock stuck inside the window that was making that noise. Someone else told me to put grease on the rubber. I've been lazy so i havent got it fixed. Do any of you guys here at stangnet have any suggestions?

You need to correct that shiot asap. Pull the interior door trim panel and figure out what is going on. If it is making a noise that loud you need to correct it asap.

both mine do it too. everybody I meet has the same problem with there windows. Just take the door panel off and see if you see anything wrong. Dout that you will though, think it just needs some grease

I've had this problem also, and have noticed that cleaning the windows with Meguiar's Quick Detailer makes this noise go away.

Maybe I should try that on my wife. She squeals when going down, too...

Go to the store and get a tube of silicone dielectric grease.

Lower your window.

Using a Q-tip, apply the silicone grease to the vertical parts of the rubber weather stripping (at the front of the door next to the tweeter pod) that contacts the window as it slides up and down. Be generous with the grease...

I usually apply the stuff once or twice a season. It's always worked to quite my squeaky windows.

I think we are talking about different noises. This isn't a noise you hear when the window touches the weatherstripping. The door can be open, and when I open/close the window you will hear the screech/squeel. It is something in the door.

You guys who suggested to put car wax on the window. Your saying to apply wax to the window, and buff it off like you would the paint ?

For the silicone grease, do you just lube up the track and moving parts? I will try that asap.

thanks!

Perhaps we are talking different noises here. However, the weather seal I'm talking about is part of the door...when you open the door and move the window up & down, it still rubs on this stripping as it moves. The attached pic shows what I'm talking about...

But like you say, perhaps you really do have a mechanical issue inside the door.

Trinity ! That was it!! You are the man. I put a small amount of silicone grease along that rubber seal and the noise is now GONE. thank you so much!
