I am gettting a loud whistle from my TB and was wondering if anyone knows how to fix it. For anyone who doesn't know I have a Fox TB conversions. I have heard that others have had this problem, but mine is loud, sounds like I have a second supercharger under the hood.

It only whistles when the TB is closed. With that being said I don't know if it is the butterfly whistling or if it is the IAC whistle letting air in the intake. I would like to fix this this weekend so any help would be appreciated.

You know when you blow over the end of a pipe with one side closed and it whistles. same concept, maybe try sanding (smoothing) the ridge of the intake hole for the IAC that should solve the problem just do a little at a time til it stops.

What TB are you using??

When we did a smoke test on my vacuum lines we found that the BBK T/B was leaking at the bolt that goes through it and holds the butterfly. It has a small leak on the side the spring/throttle cable attaches. You might try putting your finger around that bolt. If the sound changes you found it.

How do you do a smoke test on vacuum lines? Sounds like something I might be interested in trying to check for leaks.

Took my car to an auto tech school. The instructor was a friend of a friend. He had some weird little machine on wheels that pumped out smoke. You plug it into a vacuum line and it fills the engine with smoke. You'll see any leaks easily. Takes a little while to fill the whole engine intake and everything, but eventually it'll come out the air filter. That's when you know it's full. Pretty cool really.
