I have the trickflow track heat kit with a stage one cam! When my car is at idle she whistles like crazy. I think its the lower intake but I just retorqued the lower the other day and now the whistling is back. WTF??? The whistling came back about 5 min after putting it all back together. Someone told me BBK Throttlebodys need some dremmel work on the EGR hole so I also did that and nothing changed???

Do you have a supercharger in there you didn't know about?

:D J/K man. I can't really think of much without being there to hear it myself. BTW, did you plug the thermactor holes in the rear of the heads?

Large TBs suck in this regard.

Mine makes a ton of noise.
I either hear "Do you have a supercharger?" OR "What's wrong with your car?"

Not much that can be done about it, so far as I know.

So your sayin its probably my TB??? Should I go back down to a 65mm?

You would most likely take a performance hit (judging by your mods).

If the noise really bothers you there is a brand that seems to make less noise than most others. Sadly, I can't remember the brand right now.

Maybe some one else here can remember what it was.
Doing a search might work, but I am doubtful.

Most of us just live with the noise.

Good Luck

Ford & Accufab TB's don't whistle. If you have the $$$, the Accufab is a very nice piece, machined billet & shiney.

no throttle body should whistle. if it does something in not lined up right. when i did have a cai i had it crooked and thought my tb whistled. lined the pipe up, no more whistle. as far as the intake goes, you should pull it off and reseal it. then wait 24 hours before starting it. if you did go with a 65 you wont be at a loss.

when you re-torqued the intake did it go away??

could also be a vacuum leak, i had one on my car for a while that i couldnt find, but it didnt affect the way the car ran so i just dealt wiht it

I used to have a GT40 intake that was opened up to 75mm, when I used a stock throttle body it whistled when revs were coming back down to idle. It did not do it with a 75mm TB.

Very good point!

But did the whistle occur with the larger TB and smaller intake dia?

We are very quick to blame the TB, but the whistle could be from any restriction.

jrichker mentioned Accufab as a good TB, and I am not dumb enough to doubt JR.
As far as I am concerned JR is a God.

My friends throttle body also did that, i was driving right next to him and it was really loud. Sounded pretty cool but would get annoying after time. Mine also whistled (stock motor and intake) when I put on one of those Airaid intake spacer with the threaded inside (I got it brand new for 10 bucks).
