loudest set of flowmasters???

I went for cheap and had Flowmaster's (American Thunder) on my '93GT for about 7 years. I'm so glad I got turned on to the better brands when I got my Mach. It's worth the extra coin to me.

Super 44s are the loudest. Delta 40s are the quietest. And, IMO, the original 40s sound the best, especially if paired up with an offroad H pipe or offroad Prochamber.

Better quality? Maybe in some people's opinions those brands sound better, but there is nothing wrong with the physical quality of Flowmaster.

Can someone actually explain to me the real problem with flowmasters? I have them on my car and love them, actually i would never waste my money on any high priced pipes like Magnaflow, or borlas. IMO flowmasters, and mac catbacks are the best sounding exhaust on mustangs. But again thats my opinion!

There's nothing wrong with flows. Don't listen to that STEEDAGT guy above He's being a dbag that doesn't like the way they sound so he bash's the company. Kinda silly. Of course now though he'll chime in that he had an xyz flowmaster that fell apart 2 days after he put in on his car. but.......

If you like the way they sound go for it. For me, I have flow 40's with a mac pro chamber and I wouldn't have it any other way.

In fact, I bought my stang brand new when I was in highschool and living in chicago with the parents. They have been on there for damn near 10 years and the car back in the day saw chicago winters because it was my only car. And chicago winters = lots of salt. They saw 4 winters out there, one in CO where they use chemicals instead of salt. Though the car doesn't see daily driving or salt here in CA anymore if there's a test, that's it. They are still performing great and I have no need to replace them. So when they say better quality they probably mean look prettier. No different than me saying kenne bell sux just because I prefer a NOS or centri set up.

not the build quality, the sound quality. they are the "generic" performance muffler. the fact that they drone so badly inside the car makes it even worse

I have flowmasters on my car. Not sure if it was because of lack of upkeep from the guy(s) who owned the car before me, but these suckers are rusted like sheeit. I dont mind too much though because i plan on getting long tubes and a whole new exaust.

I currently run a set of 10 series 1 chamber Flowmaster knockoffs. They are made EXACTLY the same way Flowmaster makes them, just without the name stamped on. They are LOUD!

Here they are with 3" dumps welded right to them, and an offroad Prochamber in front.

Yeah if you want the loudest flows, the 10 series I believe are the loudest you'll find.

Me too, and for 2 valves, I couldn't agree more. It sounds GREAT; not too loud, not too quiet.

I've said it for a long time now: 2 valve=Flows+Prochamber; 4 valve=Borla+X-pipe. That's just my opinion, but to me, there is no other better sounding mod motor Mustang exhaust.

With my Prochamber and Flows, I have 0, I repeat, 0, drone. It is comparable as far as cruising exhaust noise goes to my granddad's Mach 1 with the stock midpipe and SLP LM2s. His 01 GT has flows and an offroad H, and it does drone, but it's only from 2000-2100 rpm. It's definitely able to be dealt with, although it is LOUD overall.

Well, I don't have Flowmasters on my car but to my understanding they are notorious for some sound called drone. I tell people Idk what drone is and they tell me "you wouldn't. You have Magnaflows"

Drone is what it sounds like its drone, cant explain, but its an easy fix dont cruise on the gas at 1200 rpm's. I have an offroad x with some american thunder flows and it sounds great, and i found ways to avoid drone as long as you stay above 1500 rpms

If you don't know what drone is, it's your entire interior rattling and squeaking because your exhaust is making a humming noise at about 100 decibels. It's rediculous.

I just had flows installed and with my custom midpipe my drone is at about 1500 rpm, which is mostly around town lugging. On the freeway or WOT theres no drone and the car sounds nasty. Personaliy the drone doesn't bother me, use to the drone from straight piped diesels with tire treads that howel like no other, ie super swampers. Actually, the drone is not as bad as I thought it would be, maybe bescause I pushed the tips a little out from the car, the noise doesn't catch on the rear bumper as much.

i have bbk shortys with stock hpipe and flowmaster 40's to dumps and i cant stand the sound so im going with bbk longtubes with o/r hpipe and slp lm1 to dumps
