Adding an Aluminum Driveshaft and Long Tube headers to that would help too.

Agree w/ the Driveshaft but for the $$$ headers wouldn't be worth the gains. MAYBE if you do the labor yourself.

If you don't mind a little worse gas mileage I'd even say 4.30's to be safe

All the above mentioned plus UDPs, Charge Motion Delete Plates, possibly upgraded clutch and/or shifter(even if it only reduces a few thousandths-you will need all you can get for 12.2-3s! Even the mods I have in the auto, I'm still a full second away from your target. I could probably see about another .2 reduction if I used street slicks and had no wheel spin. Except for headers, weight reduction(includes aluminum DS)and superior traction, I've done the major bolt ons as far as biggest gains are concerned. Like anticubicle said about good weater and good driver, I don't think that will be practical to obtain. I would say you'd need in the neighborhood of at least 350 RWHP to reach that.

Long tubes-gaining about 20 RWHP not worth it? I could understand if we were talking about non equal length shorties.

I say a real hate for your car (4k rpm launches) and all the major bot on's (CMCV deletes, CAI, Drive shaft, UD Pullies, 4.10/4.30 gears, slicks, rear control arms, off road mid pipe) should get you close on a good day.

You only need one bolt on: a blower or turbo

All those other parts combined may still not get you to low 12s

Headers and cams do not get the gains on these cars that you see in other cars.
There are people in the 9s with stock exhaust manifolds and stock cams.

These cars just dont have enouigh cubic inches to make big power naturally aspirated.

I've run 12.29 @110.9 with my n/a gt auto with a stock longblock.
you will need just about every bolt on plus some suspension parts and a really good race tune along with drag wheels and tires
oh yeah...you need good air too.
i can run 12.40-12.50 in the heat and 12.60-12.70 with the factory bullets and pirellis i'm hoping to run some 12.1's or 12.0's this fall when the weather gets cooler.
my ultimate goal is 11.99
if i get close i'll stick a smaller driver in it so i can lose another 50-75lbs. amd maybe reach my goal.

There are a lot of good ideas here. Stock GT's run 13.8-13.9 between 100-101 mph. That mph is good for a low low low 13. Being these cars are pigs out of the whole the best place to start is gears, 4.10 manual, 3.73 auto. A good CAI with a tune, underdrive pulley kit, CMCV delete plates. With good air and traction that should get you into high 12's. Slicks and maybe fine tune the PCM on a dyno possible low 12's, being exhaust gives you almost no power when your on motor alone I would'nt invest in it until you see what the other stuff does for you. Good luck.

All of my runs were done using the O/R H with factory mufflers. When I go back in a few weeks it will be with the Flows. I'm not expecting to see any gains, but IF I do...bonus Should be near the same weather as it was in late April...hopefully.

perhaps at peak, but I bet you gained at least double that at lower rpm's.

I run 12.77 in mine on stock Pirelli's at 3,630 race weight with me in it. I'd guess that if I had slicks the car could probably turn a 12.50. With a bit of weight reduction we could probably get another tenth out of it from that. I wish FAST or C&L would get done with that intake cause I'd like to see what one of those *in combination with* a GT500 throttle body would net.

a fella in the Mustang Club I frequent (http://www.southfloridastangs.net) has an 05 that pulled a 12.6 N/A with simple bolt-ons. To me, it's amazing what he got out of this car with so few mods. I almost feel like I'm forgetting a mod he has but this is what I remember from talking to him...

What he's got:
CAI
SCT Tune
X-Pipe
Flowmaster Axle-Back
4.10's
Hurst Shifter of some sort

STOCK SUSPENSION & NO WEIGHT REDUCTION!!!

His times

Best run 1/4 mile:
60ft-1.710
12.625 secs@ 108.05mph on M/T E.T. Streets

Best run 1/4 Mile:
60ft-1.999
13.052 secs@ 108.90mph on Nittos D/R

I have seen a friend's 06 GT go 11.98 @ 107 with this...

Steeda CAI
Steeda CMCV deletes
Steeda UDPs
Steeda Tri-Ax
SCT X-Cal 2 by bamachips
Meziere Electric Water Pump
Kook's LTH with catted X-Pipe
SLP LM's
Aluminum 1-piece driveshaft
FRPP 4.30's
26" tall skinnies on a 17" Tire
26/11.5/16 MT ET Street
CHE non-adjustable LCAs
CHE non-adjustable UCA
Spare removed from trunk
Car was running near empty fuel wise

It is possible for what you want...

So basically it boils down to excellent weather conditions, great traction, great launch(from suspension mods, right tire and track prep)and practice in abusing your car...not an awful lot of power mods Gotta love these new Stangs for their potential!
