I recently replaced the water pump and now my low coolant light stays on. The coolant is not low. Any help would be appreciated.

I think the wrong mixture of coolant and water can also cause the light to come on.

No...it is just a float type switch that senses level not composition.

You may just need to "burp" the system. Air gets in the system and will give you a low coolant reading. First try squeezing the top hose to move any air bubble and fill the overflow tank. If that doesn't work try removing the thermostat housing and fill from there.

If you want a quick fix just look on the driver’s side of the reservoir that faces the engine. There’s a plug there that’s connected to the sensor and when it’s unplugged the light goes off. Doesn't fix the problem but it gets rid of that dumb light in the mean time. Just be sure to keep an eye on your fluid levels like you always should.

The foam float in the overflow tank gets watter logged after time and sinks. Mine did, I unplugged the sensor. works great.
