My low coolant light is stuck on, there is plenty of water in the overflow, and in the rad. How do i get it to turn off? What sensor would go bad to cause this?

thanx

Have you pulled the low coolant sensor and cleaned it? Crap builds up on the prongs and can make the light come on.

Mine does that all the time.Sometimes if i turn the car off and back on again the light goes away. I cleaned the sensor many times but still comes on once in a while even though the over flow is half full.

well you can clean it, but mine crapped out and haven't gotten a new one yet. I simply disconnected the sensor until I get a new one, and the light goes away

The sensor is the cap on the overflow bottle.

Mine has been disconnected for about four years, I replaced it with a regular cap.

I just snagged one when I was at the JY one time, most Fords have them. I think some of the 'low optioned' LX's had them too.
