loweing springs? are those like homedepoting?

heh, anyway look at some Eibach Sportlines or H&R super sports for a nice 2in drop. If you want to go that low you have to look at getting caster/camber plates for better aligning of the front end.

werd Tom
and if you want a good 2" drop, your stock shocks and struts on that '00 wont last too long. you might want to think about upgrading those too.

2" is too much, you will have to redo a lot of stuff. You will need new ball joints also... 1.5" or less is much cheaper

what? who says? i have a 1.8" drop in the back, and ~a 2.1" up front on stock ball joints, no problem. you say he would need to redo a lot of stuff? like what? a 1.5" drop will still put extra stress on the stock shocks/struts, just not as much as a 2" drop. it is recommended that you upgrade your stock shocks/struts with any drop, since its modifying the stock geometry/tolerances of the vehicle. new ball joints arent needed, and many dont have them at all with no problems. steeda makes it into a bigger deal than it really is just to push their product.

Look here http://www.partshopper.com/shop/Eibach-Mustang-Pro-Kit-Springs-79-04-m140.html

This place is a store. Just can get these and not have to worry about replacing anything else.

And are strut's and shocks different parts or what? - Yes they are but they serve as the same purpose but in different geometrys. Struts (resisting pressure) are in the front, shocks (asorbing shock in roads) are in the rear.

Shocks and struts are similar in that they both damp (slow down) the vehicles motion. The difference of a strut vs. a shock is that a shock only controls the cars motion while a strut is a locating member of the suspension. If you remove a shock the spindle or axle will still be completely attached to the vehicle. If you remove a strut the spindle or axle will be able to move outside of its normal motion. Shocks and struts may or may not have a spring mounted to them also. It is often assumed that any damper with a spring is a strut, but this is not the case.

Some people and even some retailers recommend using the shorter fox struts and shocks when lowering a 94-04 Mustang more than 1.5". You might also want to purchase a Haynes manual.

not true Kilgore. you don't need balljoint. I have no bad issue with my sportline, and i have no balljoint. which is interesting. some lower it without it and do great like me, but some lower it without it, and have nastybump steer, and had to replace rack bushing, and ball joint
i wouldn't recommend 2" drop tho. i have all sort of issue with mine, like no service shop would touch it, becasue it won't get on their rack, have had hell of time to get it aligned, and simple task of changing oil is now not so simple anymore. And f u live where road is bad, then i would stay somewhere near 1.25~1.5. here is mine with Sportline. it looks okay in that pic, because i'm looking up to it somewhat. but its really really low

I agree with mity2, 2"' drop looks nice but you loose drivability, problems with bottoming out, servicing, etc. I would go with eibach pro kit or something else around 1.5". I blew my engine at the track and had to put my car on a flatbead truck, (I have eibach pro springs), driver had to use 2 x 8's to get my car onto the truck without scraping, I couldn't of been any lower. Also had to rent a trailer to bring my car to the shop for engine repair, car just made it on the uhaul trailor-any lower and I would have torn up my chin spoiler

thanks for the help everyone. I am not going to go 2" anymore. and i am not going to go long tube headers. I am going to do a 1.5" in the front and back and just go shorty's. I know LT are better but i dont want any scraping. Thanks

and real quick last question what does all this stuff mean

Note: Fits 4.6L and 5.0L V8 coupe (Exc. IRS and Convertible) and V6 Convertible
Note: Chassis/Body: SN95
Those are the tech notes to the springs i want to get. I have the 4.6L v8 coupe, but whats the Exc. IRS and Convertible? I think Exc is excluding but i dont know what IRS meansor Chassis/Body: SN95. These are the exact ones i am going to get

http://www.performancecenter.com/pr...lications/sf3_MUSTANG/partnumber_EIB3510.140/

i am going to finish up the suspension and get the struts in about 3 more weeks.

they are telling you what vehicles the part will fit. Exc. IRS and convertible means the part will not fit an IRS-independant rear suspension(cobras)- or a convertible GTs. you said you have a hardtop, so as long as your model year is covered in the description and it says Exc. IRS, you should be fine

SN95 are all Mustangs from '94-'04. Those springs won't fit '99-'04 Cobras since they have independant rear suspension. And they are not recommended for convertibles since they have different spring rates.
