when i installed my lower intake i used the front and back gaskets, and know its leaking oil, if its leaking oil, can it be leaking vacumm too???? should i fix it asap, or be able to ride it out a while?
I had heard not to use those little rubber front and rear gaskets they give you, but I slapped some rtv sealer on them, put them in place and havent had a problem with any type of oil leak from the lower.
If you dont care about a little oil leaking out, then I wouldnt see there being to big of a reason to rush to fix it.
If you can find the rubber (u-shaped) front and rear gaskets, they work well. DO NOT use the cork gaskets. Without a way of holding the cork in place while applying torque they will push out from between the mating surfaces.
In theory you could get a vac leak via the pcv, but I doubt that is likely or that it would be significant.
