LOWER RAD. HOSE RUBBING ALT BRACKET???

HAVE ANY OF YOU HAD THE PROBLEM OF THE LOWER RAD. HOSE RUBBING THE ALT BRACKET. DO YOU GUYS THINK THE NEW HOSE I GOT IS TO SHORT AND KEEPS THE HOSE SNUG AGAINST THE BRACKET? I GUESS I COULD TAKE IT BACK AND TRY ANOTHER HOSE COMPANY

I have seen this problem before on several occasions but usually with the cut to fit hoses that have been cut a little too short....been there done that. If you didn't trim the hose at all them maybe it is the wrong hose or at least the wrong length. If the latter is the case then try a different brand of hose and see if the problem persists.

One more thought.....are you sure you don't have the hose on backwards? Try turning it around and seeing if it fits better.

My "best fit" auto parts store lower hose just barely touches my alternator bracket. This is due to the Howe aluminum radiator and the extra distance to the outlet from the pump. I just have a section of hose over the contact spot and no problems...just checked it and no sign of wear after 2 years.

Yep, this same problem cost me making laps at one event. I put a rubber spacer between the bracket and hose with the old "wire tie". It is still there!
