I'm just wondering...Has anybody lowered their Mustang more by cutting one of the links out of the springs? I have the Eibach sport 3/4in lower I think? I know you need after market caster cambers to do it and I have already bought them. If you have, how did it work out? How much did it lower it? Was it too much?

OK OK i am guilty.. 2 years ago i didnt have any money and i wanted to lower my car so i cut the spring..

Now iam going to tell you what i did, but that doesnt mean i think you should.. it rides crappy, and your better off buying new springs (I.E sportlines, H&R SS. ect.)

The fronts i cut 1 3/4 of a coil off and you cut if off the BOTTOM of the spring.. See the bottom of the spring has the "Pig tail" while the top of the spring needs to be that "Flat" part of the spring..

The rear i only took off 1 coil.. It sat and looked :nice: :nice: :nice: But rode like crap, and i bottomed out EVERYWHERE!!:bang:

My advise is get some sportlines or H&R's..

 wait.....you have eibach sportLINES or pro-kit??
do you already have the lowering springs installed?

I'm sorry I have the pro-kit...not the sportline. It has been about 3 years since I had it installed and I forgot. Maybe I should just buy the sportline??? The way it is now, its just not quite low enough.

When I got my springs intalled the mechanic told me that cutting the springs messes up thier integrity. Not a good idea in his opinion. Its better to just buy new springs.

Words of wisdom! However, I wouldn't get H&R's if you are into draging. You will lose tons of 60' time. Those springs are ridiculously stiff! The closest springs to stock are the eibach pro kit springs, or ford racing C springs. I got the pro kit because they drop about 1.5" all the way around. C springs are like a 1" drop.

the sportlines DROP the car, thats what i have and i think its too low. I can't even fit a jack under the car anymore i have to use 2 jacks to make it work. but it corners like a beast.
