hey guys hows it going, i just installed a set of eibach lowering springs on my 95 GT and i gotta say the car looks great. My question comes from somthing my mechanic said, he told me i should look into a set of caster/camber plates because now that the car is lower it throws off the caster and camber slightly so that the tires are leaning in (which after looking close i can notice) while he said that its not crucial that i get them to fix the problem he said that because the car is sitting different (thus causeing faster tire wear)it would be something i should look into... so does anyone else have any insight? is it worth the $160 or so bucks for them?
any feedback would be great, thanks

just put the eibach sportlines on my 95 last weekend. 2.0'' front drop / 1.8'' drop rear. i went ahead and done cc plates along with energy suspension isolators. also tossed the stock shocks and struts for a set of 04 gt takes offs. you 'can' get away without doing plates somtimes. i picked up a set of new UPR 3 bolt steel (shark plate) cc plates off of ebay for $100 shipped. they arent the best plate out there, but for what im doing they are fine. i went to the alignment shop and the plates helped with the alignment. a buddy of mine lowered his 96 vert. 2.0" all the way around and he went to the same alignment shop. he did not replace the plates and his lined up just fine. BUT the guy doing the alignment said that he was border-line of having to buy plates...

sorry to threadjack but what are the advantages/disadvantages of removing the isolators? im about to buy the eibach prokit and im worried it wont be low enough. i had sportlies before and they were too stiff. any help is greatly appreciated

He is right I have yet to get my CC plates and yes it wears the fronts out alot faster. But I have a friend who put a set aof lowering springs on his car. I think the same as you.. You had an alignment and they got his camber very close so he has very little uneven tire wear..

Once I get my car aligned then I will see if they can get it close also.. Right now my tires are cambered like this / \ .

probably gonna hurt your ride a little. may be somewhat stiffer.

well my car isnt lowered yet... but to me it sounds cheaper to get the cc plates than get new front tires (at over $180 each)
I want to lower my car but i dont know how far I want to go; full front suspension k-member a-arms coil overs or just go with some springs/shocks maybe cobra a-arms and bushings all around.
Only money and time will tell which direction I will go... But I will be buying from Maximum Motorsports-That Griggs stuff is top notch no doubt but it is way too much for me, and the Steeda parts that I have seen do not look very strong and I fear they may break under high loads (which could mean the destruction of my car and maybe my life)

These are just my opinions make what ever you want of them but I strongly believe that its worth the money to get the CC plates and not have to replace expensive rubber any sooner than necessary.

they were eibach springs 1- 1.5in lower
i think im going to go with the plates, i droped $480 on tires and want to get as much out of them as i can, but does anyone one know about instaling them? is it hard/long, does it require another re-alignment?

no it is not very hard and yes you will need another alighnment to get your caster/camber back into spec when i got my set it came with a paper that told the "optimum" setting so i just gave the paper to the shop and told them i wanted it to match.

I have the pro-kit and did not use aftermarket c/c plates. The alignment shop got the alignment into spec, and even told me I had some adjustment left over. So no need for c/c plates. If you go lower than about 1.5 they probably won't be able to get the alignment into spec.
