Lowering vs. Driveability

Hey guys I have a 2007 GT/CS and I was thinking about lowering. Last time I lowered a car though it made some noise with just springs and I had trouble getting my oil changed at places. I know the CS is already a little bit lower because of the front bumper. I was wondering if anyone has noise problems with springs on the mustang and how hard it is for you guys to get your car serviced (like oil changes and what not). Thanks guys.

I have the steeda ultralites which lower the front 1" and the rear 1.25". Drivability isn't an issue for me. I never rub my chin spoiler as long as I'm careful pulling in and out of driveways.

As far as oil changes I go to a place where you just drive over the pit, I've never had it on a lift yet but I'm not worried. I've never rubbed on a speedbump either. As long as you go with a mild drop and be careful it's no problem at all. And my chin spoiler hangs probably as low as your front bumper.

I have no noises at all. I had some major clunking at first but I had the end links tightened and it took care of it. The car rides smooth and quiet as a mouse now.

That sounds good. Yeah I go to the places where you pull over the pit but they have a little guard rail up. I used to not be able to my honda in there when I lowered it. I had to drive around back and go in the backside of the pit. Would you recommend asking the place to tighten my end links just to be sure?

Wouldn't hurt to ask the installer to make sure the endlinks are tight. It seems to be a common source of noise when you change the suspension but it's easy to fix.

The place I have my oil changed has rails too, still no problem.

Depending on how big of a drop your looking for, you shouldn't have to much trouble. I have the motorsport springs which dropped it 1.5, looks killer, cant beat the quality either, quick install and didnt really notice any difference in the ride quality to be honest(and even with 20's). As far as clearance, only 1 speed bump my h pipe has just grazed. But puttin it on post type lift you might run into trouble, at the ford dealership I work at, we had to sneak a floor jack under her to get her off the lift posts. So yes you will must likely have to use a drive over style, oil change pit. But hey if you can live with that....then go for it!!! Looks sweet!!!

This is why I change my own oil and after I lower my car I will be using some home made ramps as such...

I got the FRPP kit and I love it. The car doesn't bottom out, it comes with a camber eccentric so no need for camber kits and it's lowered to perfect height where a bump steer kit is not needed so you get a COMPLETE handling package without the need for "extras"!!!

H&R springs give a 7/8 inch drop in the rear and 1 inch in front. They are said to affect the ride by about 15%. Mild drop, not very noticeable difference in ride. Mine are fine, although I just lowered the rear. Looks great too since the car's a55 is not sticking way up in the air.

I did FRPP on a 2001 Cobra and my opinion was it as bone jarring and rattled the teeth out of my head. Plus, I felt my car was being rattled to pieces because of the roads in the SF Bay area. It was certainly beautiful because I put 275/40 tires on it with 18x9.5 wheels but the ride royally pi55ed me off.
