I currently have eibach springs on my stang. the back has about a 2 inch drop and the front has a 1.5 drop. Im planning to lower the front another .5 inch. I was wondering if i have to cut my springs to lower it another .5 or can i lower it without cutting??
I personally wouldnt take out the isolators as it will increase vibration, etc. However it will give you a lower stance if you do.
You could also try some of the steeda control arms with the adjustible spring perch and adjust the rear to where you want it. I know it doenst help the front but at least you have the advantage of LCA and an equal ride height.
Did you HAVE the springs installed, or did you do it? If someone else did it, did they orientate the springs in the proper position.
My Eibach Pros were installed at a shop...I ended up with 1-1/2" drop at the rear, but only 7/8" to 1-1/8" in the front, and they just never settled down.
I finally removed them myself and found that the lower perch has a special notch in it for the end of the last coil to DROP into...guess what...they had ther springs turned enough so that the last coil rode over the top of that notch. I DID remove the isolaters, put pieces of bicycle inner tube over all the end coils and re-installed.
Doing this got me an ADDITIONAL 3/4" drop for almost 2" in the front! I love it now!
This is good that you are not going to do it, because there is another factor to consider here ... Pro Kit are progressive-rate springs with a different spring constant in the middle of the spring than the edges. It is a terrible idea ... generally ... to cut progressive-rate springs.
