look at the numbers. not the ones exaggerating but the average car.

there are plenty of 4.6 2v's giving them hell. 285-295. thats hot331 all the way. and he weighed less.

a mach makes 270 rwhp stock. an 05 gt makes 270 stock. they aren't that much more. and add boltons and cams for 4.6 3v or 4v 345rwhp and 332 rwtq. they aren't making ludicrous power like you 2v guys think.

Most of us know this ;) It's the nature of a long time rivalry though to talk up the competition... makes the wins all the sweeter when you defeat the "common enemy".

Most of us do know this true but,we are not too far behind indeed. :)
Their major advantage is displacement.
Don't the 01-02 LS1 cars dyno 300-310 rwhp bone stock?
Way to stick it to the enemy lol.

Yes sir :D . I honestly wasnt too worried about any LS1 cars...especially not GTOs. I mean my car would run with the LS2 400HP versions. I would walk all over the adverage LS1 GTO :D

The LS1 camaros were closer to me though...but I can outdrive most camaro drivers haha, thats why I wasnt worried lol.

Heck i even wasted a 400RWHP cammed LS1 vette....even from a 50 roll. Its all about the driver, and traction :D

But your right BIll, most 2V guys think that they have no chance against the LS1s. And in reality even @ 248RWHP I could stay DARN good with my friends 02 M6 SS that had a dyno tune...he even power shifted every gear but 2nd. We went from a 10 roll and he didnt pass me until 70MPH, and it was a slow steady walk by until the topend of 4th when he started really pulling. (Remeber this was STOCK cams, and a crappy mail tune with boltons)

This is definately true. I've held my own against a few LS1's and I've even beaten one, but I probably beat the driver, not the car. The thing that gets me down is that we 2v guys have to mod our cars just to keep up with stock LS1's. This is why I am so glad that Ford is finally bringing back the 5.0.

it's just too bad for those LS1 guys that they can't modify their vehicles...

There are honestly not as many F-Body enthusiats as there are Stang fans. Thus the modding percentage is higher on our side.

I think it's fairly safe to say that more of us mod beyond a K&N and Exhaust, where as the majority of them do a CAI and Exhaust and call it quits.

Of course I also think that the ratio of true built cars (High 9's and faster) on both sides is probly equal.

Truth is where LS1s are concerned I'm more worried about the Autos than the Manuals. Thats a nice shifting Auto a lot of those cars come with, but most of the stick drivers have the "Holier than thou" attitude and don't shift very well. (at least the 3 states I have lived in)

i'm with you on this one. a friend of mine had an '00 6spd SS with a lid and full exhaust. more than half the times we raced i'd pull ahead beacuse he would bog/spin on the launch or miss a gear or both

an auto ls1 will pull ahead of me halfway thru 1st and just keep going

they make more power modified than our motors and DONT need blowers to do it.

displacement and bore size is the big advantage of the LS-1.. if the modular was built with a decent bore size then things would have been different.. I am hoping that the " hurricane" with be a 4.0 bore.

Wow, dyno numbers. Lets look at track times. Even the heavy ass, IRS LS1 Goats are running faster than a PI 2V.

Mike, I hope you're right about the Boss/Hurricane motor. And I cant wait for someone to come out with a swap kit for 99-04's, if Ford does the motor right.

My best friend has a 00 SS M6 with a lid, cat-back, and a couple little things and a hypertech programmer. We run probably once a week whenever we get the chance. I pull away from him steadily on just a 50 shot. On a 100 It's a beating. I'd say he's a good driver for the most part. It's just F-bodys aren't that much faster than GT's IMO:shrug:

Im scared, ;).

It wasnt really the f-bodies that I was worried about with my GT. It was the grocery getters, and sport compacts that are comming out faster, and faster every year..But, I no longer have to worry about that. The only thing I have to worry about these days are Busas' and my own kind :D

Stock, the LS1 owns the SOHC 4.6 period. When modding comes in it's a whole different ballgame. I don't think it's far to compare a GT with nitrous exhaust and CAI to a LS1 with just a tune and some exhuast. Afterall they are/were similarly priced. Compare a LS1 to a 4.6 SOHC with the same mods, there's a big difference.

I am your worst nightmare! :rlaugh: (note teh busa)

LOL, I ran it up to 150 the other day...just SOOOOOOOOO fast, its not even breathing doing it. The thing is gaining MPH faster @ 150 than my GT did in 2nd gear @ 40MPH lol..its rediculous. :hail2:
