LS-1 power not out there for us.

I am your worst nightmare! :rlaugh: (note teh busa)

LOL, I ran it up to 150 the other day...just SOOOOOOOOO fast, its not even breathing doing it. The thing is gaining MPH faster @ 150 than my GT did in 2nd gear @ 40MPH lol..its rediculous. :hail2:

Its awesome gettin up to about 150. Ive had my 06 gsxr 600 up there a couple times and it was beggin for me to crack the throttle some more. Its amazing how fast they can accelerate. but i do have like 108horse to the wheel and it weighs about 600 with me on it.

350 hp stock vs 260 hp stock. This is like a civic forum trying to argue that a mustang isn't so far off all you gotta do is turbo nitrous cam exhaust etc... and then when that said civic beats me, assuming im driving a stock mustang, id be like, im driving a stock mustang lol!

6 SPD transmission. A4 = automatic 4 speed.

Falcon guy, its not that big of a difference. Race one at the track and you will see....most stock LS1 F bodys run 13.5-13.7 at best. The night I ran my car the 2nd fastest one was a 13.0 car...and it wasnt stock. It pulled noticably harder than the other 3-4 LS1 F body cars there. Fastest one was pretty modded and running low 12s or something.

Yea...bottom line is they are faster. Mod for mod, they will always be faster. Thats why you put on mods that most LS1 guys dont do...RE: Twin turbos. :D

And as for the few TT/500+RWHP ls1s out there...I doubt ill ever meet one.

well when you are comparing engines that are similar in the year they were produced and basically in direct competition i feel it goes something like this:

In the mid 90s it was LS-1 cars for GM and NPI Mustangs for ford.

Then came the PI mustang while GM brought out the LS-2

Then fords best attempt besides the Shelby GT500 was the 03/04 cobra holds its own to vettes and the LS-2s in them.

But then chevy put the LS-7 in the Z06 and i would say that engine holds its own against the 5.4 in the GT500 which is still supercharged and not much faster in the 1/4 than the terminator.

I know there is a Ford GT out there but mildly modded z06's can compete with them.

I am a ford guy all the way dont get me wrong...but you cant really compare a modded 04 2v to a mid 90 to late 90s LS-1. Let alone a semi modded 05 5.4 3v.

If you disagree with me let me know cause im not an expert or anything and i dont claim to be this is just my perception and how i think a non biased viewer would view the comparison.

Any way you slice it, a stock LS1 fbody is about 0.9 seconds faster(1/4) than a stock 2v Mustang when both cars are driven to their potential. Comparing stock vs stock with equal drivers is the ONLY way to do it.

And yes, the fbody can be modded and they respond well. For example: http://www.motorsporttech.com/press/gmhtp_may2004_02.html

The lid/catback '00 LS1 made 331rwhp WITHOUT the LS6 intake -- substitute a cutout for the catback and you have 331 rwhp(390hp) for around $100.

Maybe Evan Smith said it best: View attachment 414049 http://www.stangbangers.com/01_Bullitt_Article2.htm

Notice that he ran 12.96 in the SS with a full fuel tank/lousy air and 13.91 in the Bullitt. Both cars were tested in the same bad conditions and the LS1 ran almost a full second faster. With 321rwhp it made 82hp more than a Bullitt and about 95rwhp more than you average GT.

"With any kind of air, the SS might have gone 12.70s or better. On stock radials"

Most of us do know this true but,we are not too far behind indeed. :)
Their major advantage is displacement.
Don't the 01-02 LS1 cars dyno 300-310 rwhp bone stock?
Way to stick it to the enemy lol.

I have seen a friends 01 SS dyno 319 rwhp stock and an 01 WS6 with less than 1000 miles dyno 325 bone stock. My old roomates 02 WS6 with a lid and cutout made 331rwhp in her A4.

Most I have seen are 300-315 for a 6 speed and 290-300 for an A4

Most the ones I have seen run 13.1-13.5 bone stock. I ran 13.4@105 in 85* heat with a 2.2 60' in the catfish.

And as for the few TT/500+RWHP ls1s out there...I doubt ill ever meet one.
I can introduce you to a 1000 rwhp daily driver that was the cover article for GMHTP along with a few 600-700 rwhp Turbo LS1's. Our local F-Body club has 3 Turbo cars making over 500, 630, 1000 and a Firehawk with a F1C on a 402 making over 600. Also a few turboed LS1 cars in Virginia Beach. You wont see them on the street though.

My best friend has a 00 SS M6 with a lid, cat-back, and a couple little things and a hypertech programmer. We run probably once a week whenever we get the chance. I pull away from him steadily on just a 50 shot. On a 100 It's a beating. I'd say he's a good driver for the most part. It's just F-bodys aren't that much faster than GT's IMO
:rlaugh:
You ran a stock LS1 with a lid and catback with a bolt on 2V spraying a 100 shot and you won? You don't say. How about running him on motor and see what the outcome is. I have yet to see a stock 2V run a 13.3 on street tires.

2V vs LS1 bolt on for bolt on, hell I will include heads and cams, the LS1 will always be faster, and make more power than a stock shortblock 2V. There are some H/C/I bolt stoick bottom end on LS1's making upward of 475-500 hp NA

Those numbers stock are pretty impressive stock on the WS6's. :nice:
The first time my friend took me for a ride in his 00 WS6 he did
a 5K rpm blast and I got knots in my stomach lol. :)
Alot of the turbo LS1 cars I have seen are not smog legal or CARB certified.

GM's have us beat other than the 03/04 Cobra and hopefully the new Shelby, but I'm not so sure about the later. You have to be highly modded to compete, even against some of the SRT4's out there.
