I love new T/A's, but cannot stand the camaro look.

Why on earth are you comparing a 302 to an ls1? you are idiots...

If you compare a motor redesigned in the 80's from ford, then compare it with crap GM produced in the 80's!!! There wasn't much of a contest...period. these threads are as dumb as the day is long.

I'll bet an ls1 lasts longer and makes more power with more gas mileage than any of fords 4.6 motors.

Don't get me wrong, I hate the cocky ls1 owners, and I'm going to take him down or blow the damn car up trying. I'm not a chevy guy, but I love all cars. My bias is to ford, but the lsX is the pinnacle of performance v8's currently imo. Say 5.4 blown all day, but in the end, the c6 z06 makes lunch of the gt500 and can give a ford gt the run for it's money. N/A at that, and gets 25mpg highway. It just pisses me off that ls motors are automatically pos just because their pathetic owners.

ford gt is a hell of a lot faster and goes 200+, the ford gt is one of the greatest cars ever built, even with a few recalls in the early ones. and at least ford does the necessary recalls. ls1's are nice, but i beat them and get 25mpg highway, work on my own car with ease and didn't spend a fortune on the sticker. most ls1 owners couldn't change a spark plug in their car. I would love to see a reproduction of the fox body, 5.0 cars with an updated aluminum motor and new tremec 5 or 6 spd and see what happens, 12's stock. I'm am not impressed with how fast any stock car on the market since the 5.0 stangs is, a supercharger seems to be fords crutch and chevy well they died with the camaro, because no one cares about a 50,000 dollar+ halo car, they want something they can drive. all in all i'm going to build my own cars when i get older and buy an insanely fast electric car (hopefully american made).

Your right looks just like a Geo Storm .

And anyone that says a TA isn't one of the best looking cars on the road is on crack. Not saying it's the best looking car but to say it's remotely ugly is stupid.

The LS1 is just as strong as the 302 i believe and there are quite a few 100+k LS1's running around that run just as good as they did with 10k on them.

put it next to an lt1 also and you'll see the slow evolution from geo to ls1

I love how most people with a bias to one brand are usually young guys who havent owned any other vehicle. Notice how the guys who owned LS1 are saying they are great motors, and in great cars.

I like Fbodies as well as Mustangs. And when you compare them reliability wise its hard to say ones better than the other. For every good Ford there are bad ones, and the same goes for GMs!

i have owned two LS1 f-bodies and they are first class, grade A pieces of $hit! Hows that for a change of pace?

Yes I love the ford gt and it is a bad car, but since you want to talk not spending a fortune, I'll take a c6 z06 for 75k, call it 80k, slap a turbo on it and walk ford gt's all day long on their 150kmsrp.

Hmmm…well I'd just have to up the boost and womp on em both (1/4 mile) for next to nothing. The GT is in a completely different class than the c6….they just don’t compare. The corvette in my eyes will always be THE midlifecrisiesmobile. That’s not to say the z06 isn't bad-ass…it's just not apples to apples. Nor for that matter is the gt500 and c6.

Ford GT - Stock

C6 Z06 - Cold air intake + Tune
488RWHP 460RWTq

http://www.spdkilz.org/Video-Audio/...20Ford GT.wmv

Now not saying the GT isn't badass or anything but the Z06 can compete with a GT granted it wasn't stock but there isn't much money in a CAI and a tune either. But the GT will over come the Z06 once more boost is added, but then again you can add boost to the Z06 etc. etc.

And yeah the Camaro does suck in looks but i do kinda have a soft spot for the SS, a black SS does look pretty mean in my book. But that's the only color i would own lol.

As for not spending a fortune on your stang, the same can be said about our TA. I actually have less money in it then i have in my stang and it might beable to beat the stang after swapping in a bigger cam last weekend. Nothing like adding a cam, exhaust, intake and making 370-380rwhp through a 3500 stalled automatic.

besides a terminator a ls1 camaro ss is the sexiest car out there.

I got owned by an ls1 today. Right after my hci was put together too. He got me by like 3 cars, i had no traction of course, but he was only going half throttle in 1st and shifting at 4krpm. Found the guy on a local forum, he has a low compression forged H/C awaiting a blower, ran 12.9 with just bolt ons. I got OWNED.

F-bodies camaro's make me cringe...what an ugly ass car with no soul. T/A's i love, they look mean and back it up.

Im glad we are now comparing an american super car (every magazine has tested the GT against a c6 z06) against an american SPORTS car. The GT has beat it badly in every test, but everyone knows the average joe could get a z06 and lay waste to most **** on the road. Off topic much?

compare the Ls1 to the 351W they put in the 95 Cobra R, thats more of an even comparison since they were designed and produced at similar times, with similar displacement. far more credible than comparing a mid-late 90's 347ci ls1 to a 1987 redesigned motor that was trying to get 25+ mpg so people could afford gas for it.
