LT header install

id do it myself just to feel accomplished that u installed one of the harder mods on ur car...and the experience and "fun times with ur friends after downing a few beers trying to figure out how u start the damn thing 3 hrs into the project" :rlaugh:

yeah i figured the labor costs will kill me but i am good friends with the guy that owns the shop and i was hopin he would cut me a break. I 'm tryin to just get an average time for the install just to know what kind of price i'm lookin at

if u don't try it, u'll never be able to. I'm going to try as soon as I have enough green to buy BBK Lt's.
Try it. Worst thing can happen is that u can't do it, and take it to mechanic.

have confidence in yourself man, you'll do fine. like he said the worst that can happen is that you get into it, decide you're in over your head and put it back together and take to the mechanic. honestly there is nothing "hard" or complicated on the install, you just have to be careful and take your time when you support the motor after the kmember is out. one thing i will warn you is though that the first time you do it, you wont get it done in 5-6 hours. it might take you a full day or wrenching to get it completed. the first time i did a header install thats about how long it took me. the second time i did it, it took a shade under 6 hours. the first time is a learning experience, you can do it.

yeah i would like to try it, i was told by many people its a pain in the ass and i'de be better off just takin it somewhere

yeah it can be a pain, but there is nothing hard about it. the only thing it really is, is time consuming. you can do it. just be patient & get a friend or two to help you & provide pizza for them. it's all good from there man :nice: if you get stuck ask one of us, we're more than happy to help

Installed mine with my dad in our small ass garage. Ours took about 2 1/2 days (didn't work full days) we wasted a day though before we decided to drop the k-member lol.

Next week I will be installing myself LT's, mid pipe, cat back and new clutch myself..I will let you know how it goes
