Well i got the long tubes in while changing the valve gaskets. Everything went fine until taking the oil dipstick out. I was wiggling it out and it just broke off right at the oil pan. What do i need to do to fix it? would i have to get the whole oil pan pulled and what would a fix like that cost? Makes me wish i just had someone install the headers for me heh... Well any feedback will help greatly. Thank you.

Depends on how far down the damned thing went in. If it's just a little bit you can try using a dry wall screw partially threaded into the tube to try and fish it out. Otherwise... get a tubing cutter and hack that beeach off till you can get your hand on stick to get it out. Then buy a generic replacement, do an oil change with the appropriate amount of oil and make your own full level mark.

Tube broken off flush with block fix -

Use a 1/4" or 5/16" lag bolt screwed into the broken part. Screw it in, but not so tight than it expands the broken tube. Pull on the lag bolt with the visegrips and it will pull the broken tube out cleanly.

jrichker - I tryed using both scews and they were both to small. the 5/16s screwed in alittle but still fit in loosely. I didnt get to go the the hardware store to get a different size. Do you have any other advice? Thanks

Go to the hardware store and get the next largest size. You're gonna need something that will bite into the remainder of the dipstick tube so you can extract if from the block. The right size tap, or EZ-out extractor may also 'bite' into the tube enough to allow you to pull it out.

If you're absolutely certain your car doesn't use oil - one temporary possibility is simply to plug the hole with rtv. When you pull the motor or otherwise have the pan off, you can then push it out, or pull it through.

Yea i know my car doesnt eat oil..And i had a bolt the is rvt'ed in there right now that has been doing its job holding the oil in. Well possibly next week i am going to have a clutch installed with some various other things. Maybe ill just get the oil pan replaced since its a little banged up anyways. But ill try the next size up like you said. Thank you
