Ok, after going through and using the search function, and reading thourhg all my recent magazines and checking all the normal web sites; it seems as if my long tube header options are more extensive than I originally thought.

I would like to just see what headers people have, and what they like, dislike, and why. One of my main concerns for which ones I buy will be fitment. I dont want a header that will leak, or that needs a custom mid pipe fabricated, or one that may rub on other engine parts. Also what gaskets you use, and what bolt, or stud & nut combo. And what mid pipe do you have? Were there any special tasks needed for install?

As of right now, I have FRPP shorty, unequal, ceramic coated, with Fel Pro gaskets, and Stage 8 locking header bolts.

So far for brands, I have seen-
BBK
MAC
Flow-Tech
Hooker
SLP
Edelbrock Victor Series
Hedman

We seem to have a lot of input for the SLP's, BBK, and MAC.
I seem to be leaning towards the Edelbrocks, or the BBK's.
I'm not worried about power improvements, any LT will be too close to tell, and Im not trying to win any 'dyno war'. And my car will never see FI, maybe a stroker down the road, but nothing ever too crazy.

Any and all info is greatly appreciated!

Edelbrock makes LT's for the 2V? link?

Personally, Im going all out and buying Kooks in a few weeks, then sending them to Jet-Hot for coating inside and out.

Out of that list, BBK (ceramic) is the best bang for your buck.

If you go cheap and get mac, which I did, it's kinda a crapshoot. Some people have no problems and other's like myself have fitment issues. I have a slight tick/leak that can only be heard with no stereo on and under heavy load acceleration from low RPM's in a high gear like 5th. That and the issue of weld slag getting sucked back up through the EGR. I have an EGR delete, $12 from Randy Stincomb, that fixes that potential disaster.
Maybe Mac fixed those problems, maybe you would have no issues with these headers, but maybe you won't. I have never heard people complain about SLP's, hookers or even BBK's. I would choose one of those three, depending on which mid-pipe you want.

Helty, Summit Racing lists Edelbrock headers for the 4.6L year 2000 and up.

I love the sound of a catless X pipe, and noticed that most companies offer an H pipe, which I am not a big fan of. What do you guys use for bolts/studs?

CrazySHO88 you have a bunch of stuff going into your ride. Just curious how much power your putting out with the exhuast mod's you've done so far if you know? Also do you think these mod's including the LT's will be a problem when our craptacular state gets the Emissions testing going again ?

Blackfang, be sure to let me know how the install goes and how you like the sound/power/quality of it all.

Dorsai- I have yet to get the car dynoed. I would like to get a base line before the LT's. Just for a comparison. As far as inspection goes, Ill be all set as far as the visual part goes, my buddy does testing at his two gas stations. I may just have to get some cats for the test though. I highly doubt it would even come close to passing without cats.

I went with coated BBK. because I found hell of deal on it($350 new). But they fit great, and works great. But if its up to me, I would go with coated(and only celamic coated) Mac LT. So that I can use prochamber shortie mid pipe.

I got BBK Coated LT. They fit good and you can by a short cat or no cat X pipe fromm BBK. They sound good and seem to get more power in the hiigher RPM's.
