Hi:

I was wondering what you are suppose to lube the inner cable (that spins) with, on a speedometer?

I snapped my old speedo cable right where it enters the tranny! I guess those burnouts did it in?!?

Any way, are you suppose to put any lube or leave it dry?

Thanks

Lube it! or it will die. I saw a fitting to attach a grease gun to it somewhere; maybe someone will chime in. Graphite based grease??

There is special speedo cable lube available at your local parts store. Couple a bucks.

Do not use conventional grease. I think the special lube ais a moly based lube.

I know it is recommended for sure! I bet if you were to talk to a motorcycle shop they would fill you in on the type of lubricant you require.

A little bit of auto trans fluid will work wonders. Do not use grease and do not over lube.
