My 89 is in my garage with a flat. It has the locking lugs on it but I don't have the key. How do I break off the lug myself? I went to Les Schwab and they said that they'd do it but wouldn't tell me how to do it myself.

There are all sorts of keys for different lug nuts, you may not be able to find another one that will fit your lug nuts.

Some shops have a tool kinda like the Sears "bolt out," where it just rips the lug nut to ****, but it comes off :P

Get a deepwell socket, 1\2" drive, that is just a bit too small to slip over the outside diameter of the locking lug. With a hammer, pound it a couple of times, usually only a 1\4" of "bite" so to speak is needed, attatch a 1\2" breaker bar, & turn off. I do it all the time at the junkyards & for friends.....

This is the easiest method.
