Just incase dynamat was out of your budget, here's a couple links to alternate solutions.

www.quietcoat.com
www.fatmat.com

That quiet coat stuff was what I thought was most interesting. The thing with dynamat is that not only is it very pricey, you have to rip out all of your interior in order to install the dynamat properly. Another idea is to use the stock O.E material insulation that is already found in places like on the underside of the hood. Don't ask me what this O.E material is, I just emailed 50resto.com and asked and they replied by saying it was an O.E material. Hopefully you know what that means and you can tell me. But I've noticed that there is a lot more room on the underside of the hood, inside the fender wells, and perhaps somewhere in the firewall to install this stock insulation. Just some more options for you to potentially think of. As for square foot measurements, I can't help ya, sorry. Hope some of these suggestions help a little though.

O.E. material?? you mean the carpet joot? it's called joot (or however you want to spell it).

dynamat sucks. Back in the day when it was the only option it was the **** but in reality it is ****. If it doesn't heat right it wont adhere, if the surface isn't spotless it won't stay adhered.

If you get dynamat, get their spray can adhesive.

A better way (and cheaper!) to sound deaden is to:

1. Get paintable undercoating and spray it all over the bare body/inner doors after you pull out the interior panels

2. get a big can of 3M (not the cheap stuff, the $7 can) trim adhesive and some of the thickest "MIL" plastic sheeting from lowe's or home depot you can. Cut pieces in the shapes of the body panels/door panels, spray the adhesive on it let it tack then apply to the panels.

3. Re-joot over these plastic cutouts if yours was missing or nasty when you took the body panels off.

Enjoy the extra sound deadening and weight your car now has.

I personally like dynamat, i used a whole ton if it in the MG and Comet when we were rebuilding them. It really does a nice job on keeping the sound under the car and the heat from the exaust from transferring though the floor. It elimnated some of the rattles in my car and made it a overall more comfortable car (comfortable for an MG anyway) the comet reacted the same way. Vast improvement. The stuff i used was Dynamat Extreme, I bought the big rolls of it when i worked at best buy for less than half the Retail price.
