there is no way a m5 motor would fit without major massaging(ie, get out the torch).

the 3.2 from the m3 was already a tight squeeze.

they are quick but if ur snake is highly modded u should be ok. Just watch out above 100 cause they are quick on the topend.

Is this car an M roadster or the newer Z8? If it is the Z8, it has the M5 V-8 engine. But he could just be another one of those smart-aleck know it all's too that has an M.

Update? This is an interesting one.

The 1999-2000 M Roadster is 2150 pounds and has 240hp.
The 2001-2002 M Roadster is 2200 pounds and has 315hp.

They are fast, yeah, but against a modded Mustang? No chance. Not in a straight line, at least ...

For what it's worth there is NO way anyone has an M5 motor (a $19,000 motor by the way) in an M Roadster or any Z3. I heard that German tuner Hartge did do a one off for a rich M Roadster owner, but they had to do extensive sheetmetal alteration to the front -- as someone said the S52 (240hp) and S54 (315hp) inline sixes barely fit.

It all depends on how you drive. A guy in a 00 Cobra R couldn't walk away from us. My friend was driving an 00 M coupe and he is a helluva good driver; he is a driving school instructor. Well, it doesn't matter who has a better car. I don't like guys with big mouth. So, shut him up . Just remember to keep your head cold and watch for your traction at launch.

Hi, I've got an update for you guys. Now, I don't know the whole story yet, But as soon I find out more ifo I'll let you guys know, but My friend told me that over the weekend he got by somebody with a heavily moddified 2002 ss camaro. This guy happens to be the boyfriend of another girl that also works there and I guess he was told the same rude comments that this guy probly told me. But from what I've heard so far, that boyfriend caught this guy who i found out has a 99 m roadster, finally, I know what car and year it was, at a local carl's jr and happen to follow him out to nice stretch of roadway. From what i've heard, that camaro spanked the **** out of him twice. All that I know for sure is he told my buddy that now he won't race me becuase of the fact that he calls it cheating to have a moddified car. I guess he was making up a zillion excuses as to why it's not an even playing field, but I guess he won't be saying he owns 03-04 cobras anymore. Too bad as to I wanted to see how I would hang against him in a race

First off you should knock that dude out.....blaaaaam. Second he is a complete lier and a bad one at that....It's pretty hard to put that m5 in there and those engines aren't just given out.....lots of money. Tell him to shut the f$ck up and put his money where his mouth is especially if you switch to the 4.10's and some good tires.
