Anyone have the Mac cat back w/ stock h and headers? If so do you like the sound (there are no clips for Mac w/ stock h on mustangexhaust.com) and is there any drone on the highway? Would there be a noticeable difference in sound between a factory h and a hi flow cat h? Thanks.

Well I have it with my o/r H-pipe. Actually it is a Flowmaster catback but with the MAC Flowpaths welded in instead of the Flowmasters. I like the sound of the MAC the best. There is not much drone on the highway. I find that the flowmasters drone more than the MACs. This my opinion though.

I agree. flowpaths are underrated. they ARE pretty damn good mufflers (though i wouldnt touch MAC's headers with a ten foot pole). And you're right, flows drone too much. They droned so much, infact, i got rid of mine. hehe.

Anyone have this kit? Are these the flowpath mufflers?

Good, bad idea?

Glad to hear there isnt as much drone as w/ the Flows, I used to have an o/r w/ Flows on my 91, but it got a little brutal on the highway by times.

I was considering getting Mac Flowpaths. Why did you choose them? How would you describe the tone?

I started out with just a MAC catback and it sounded great although it did drone on the highway. I put a upr x-pipe and now there is no droneand its oud as hell when you get on it. Sounds better than flowmaster in my opinion.

Yeap I do , I have the exact set up you're looking at.

You will like it if you like a deep sound , it's not agressive , I really like it. The drone is at 2100 RPM like almost all Mustangs and it's not that bad..

Here's a video of my car there is music at the beginning but at the end I do a fly by and a small burn out so you'll be able to hear it pretty good

2000 GT video !

You may have to play it twice cause it may cut out the first time you play it or you can "save as" if you want it's a sony web site so there is no virus there. !

On eBay, MustangWarehouse has the MAC 2 1/2" DURA-BLACK HTS coated Cat-Back Exhaust system with 3" Stainless Steel tips for sale for $299 (free shipping) Is this worth it? How are the Dura-Blacks?

I had the cat-back with the stock H-pipe and it was actually pretty nice... No drone at all!! The stock H-Pipe really takes care of the drone.. After I put the high flow catted H-Pipe on, I had a little drone in 2500 to 3000 RPM range, but I can always up-shift to eliminate it. I had the flowmasters and they drone like crazy! MAC is a much better choice and setup IMHO.

That kit doesn't look like it would fit over the axles...

It does say you have to specify model, so the pic may be for a different model... any good places to get catbacks at good prices and free/cheap shipping?

What did you not like about the tips? I just called the shop to order the MAC cat-back kit. I have an appointment for installation in a few days.
