Mac H-pipe and exhaust leak at driver's side?

I remeber someone posting that they had a mac off-road h-pipe with an exhaust leak at the driver's side exhaust manifold and that they had to replace the studs coming out the header so that it would seal. I had a mac off-road h-pipe since I bought the car and yes it always had an exhaust leak at the driver's side. So I took it off and put the stock mid pipe back in. I know mac has a new design now for the h-pipe, will I run into the same problem again or has it been fixed. Do I need to change the studs sticking out of the header to a different kind or do I need change both header studs to different ones without spacers. Does anyone have the part no. to these studs and where I can get them at? Thanks for any help!

i'm installing my mac o/r H pipe tomorrow. did your driver side part come with the little adapter? mine did and I know i have to use it. did yours come with that?

Mine did not come with an adaptor like you are saying. Where did you get your pipe? And let me know if you don't get any exhaust leaks. Thanks for the info!

installed mine about a month ago and no leaks. normally if I use that stupid paper gasket that comes with it I get a leak so the last 2 stangs I had I did not use it and have had zero leaks. but the newer style comes with a adapter as it was called earlier that fits into the pipe. threw me off when I opened the box and the pieces didnt look anything like they use to.

Here's what to do

the problem is that the header flange is 2.25", and the mid pipe is 2.5", so to fix it, get a flared 2.25" pipe cut, then get some high temp silicon to seal it, put the 2.25" pipe into the drivers side of the mid pipe with some high temp silicon, then just re-install the mid pipe, I have this on my X pipe and it fixed the problem

I also had/use the little adapter piece that comes with the mac pipe. Bought from brenspeed.com for 138 and free shipping.

Very well explained installations on your site

Just got my car last friday with the Prochamber on it. The tech who did it kept the stock gasket on the passenger side. Still good and trew the paper one in the garbage. I did the same thing as Propeller and bought the stud kit from NAPA even if there s an adaptor in the PC kit. The tech from Ford didnt want to use the adaptor cause he said the contact with the header is not enough. By using the adaptor you loose about 50% of the contact surface. So he used the stud kit without the adaptor. Going well so far.
