mac or flows

i have bbk equal length shorties, x pipe and 2 chamber flowmasters. i like the sound. its not very loud at idle, suprisingly enough it doesnt have much of drone at cruise rpm either. the x pipe is a little quieter than an h-pipe but is pretty loud at wot. i havent heard a car with the same setup with macs so i couldnt tell ya if they sound better or not. i would imagine the would probably sound fairly close.

regarding the comment about equal length shorties. i just bought a used set of bbk equal lengths despite what everyone has said about them. i was a little leary of getting them but i got them for 50 bucks i couldnt turn it down. it wasnt as bad to put them on as everyone has said. i was actually quite suprised about it. took about 4 hours to install. everyone also said how hard it was to get to the plugs and i would burn all of my wires. actually in my experience all of that information was bogus. my neighbor is also a mustang guy and said the same thing. he came over twice while i was putting them on and was amazed how good they fit and the fact that i had way more than enough room for sparkplug access and the wires are no where near the tubes. i have custom cut wires with 90degree boots and that helps some too.

Go with Magnaflow this catback sounds amazing...you wont go wrong with them. I had flows before they were ok not too happy with the inside drone. Magnaflows sound so mean when you hit the gas...just my 2 cents

MAC, MAC, MAC, MAC, MAC. I obviously cant say it enough... i have heard cars with most of the above mentioned setups and like all of them. but I cant get over my setup (mac o/r h pipe with MAC flowpaths and 3" tails. im personally not impressed with magnaflow, i dont understand why its such a big vote so far. i know 2 friends that actually took their magnas out in place of chambered mufflers (1 for flows and the other for MAC) suit yourself with your decision but my vote would be (in this order... MAC, bassani, flows, magna, SLP. note: all with off road midpipe otherwise my order would change :D good luck man and research up on your headers, people seem to have as many opinions on those as they do cat backs... but you might find that these opinions are backed by fact and first hand experience more than just opinion.

I have two chambers on the fox vert and Macs on the 94. I like 'em both.

The Mac's rumble at idle is just right to me (some think it's a little dumptruckish apparently. Maybe my having an aftermarket catted H helps tone it down).

WIth the flows, I like 'em alright at idle. Love 'em when you snap the throttle or downshift (I like the hollow sound that some hate).

You're not going to go too far wrong no matter what you choose. If not mentioned, Chris has an exhaust sound page on his site.

Good luck.
