after my high flow cat install my magnaflow cat-back is REALLY quiet, just wondering if the mac flowpaths or the "small" spintechs sound good?

The Mac's are louder than the spintechs by 3 decibals at WOT and by a couple at 2000rpm cruising speed.

I am planning on getting the MAC pro dump catback with my bassani o/r X. Now that should be WAYYY louder than the catback.

I have the Spintech Sportsman's and they're plenty loud by MY ear. I have noticed that they're a tad louder on the inside than outside. I'm sure that the Prostreet's would be freaking loud with your setup.

wait wait wait...but you said the "small" spintechs so you mean the prostreets right? Not the sportsmans. In that case the prostreets will be louder. They are half the size of the mac muffler. I would compare the sportsmans to the mac muffs in sound.

I would say Spintech...they give it a tough sound while idling and such and just sound wicked at WOT.

He already bought the spintechs, but to elaborate, check the sticky at the top of the page and scroll down to all the muffler selections. You will see that the MAC's are actually louder than the Spintechs.

You are right, but he said the "smaller" spintech which is the prostreet. The sportsmans are the same size as the mac or 40 series flowmaster.

14.SpinTech, 87db at idle, 97db at 2,000 rpm, 116db at WOT.
15.MAC, 87db at idle, 98db at 2,000 rpm, 119db at WOT.

I am willing to bet that the "spintech" used here is the Sportsmans series which would be the same comparison as the mac muffler or any other muffler of the same size. It all depends on which spintech muffler he got as they are all not the same. I find it very hard to believe that a muffler that is half the size with half the baffles inside as the Mac, that it is somehow quieter.

If this guy wants to, he can do a couple searches and see that the Spintech sportsmans series is compared to the flowmaster 40 series which is compared to Mac. The prostreets are a whole nother ball game similar to dynomax bullets or maybe even flowmaster 1 chambers but i dont think they are that loud but im not sure. I did this research as i was looking into Spintech and was trying to decide between which spintech muffler to get. I decided to get a whole different muffler instead

yes i did end up getting the "pro street" they are half the size of 40 series flowmasters and with cats sound quieter than the 40's with no cats, but they kinda have a lowmaster sound to them just deeper.

They should with cats...any muffler should be quieter with cats

They are known for that deep rumble and then a scream at WOT...im not too sure with the catted pipe in front of them though.

My old Flowmasters sure as hell weren't quieter! I don't think anything short of a stock h-pipe would be able to quiet them down.

I never said they would be quiet...but anything with cats on it will be quieter than an off road pipe.

I know. Mine got quieter at low rpm cruise speeds. With the old H, it basically had the same tone all the way through the rpm range. With the X, the tone changes more as rpm rises, so any sound drop from the cats seems to be negated. Cats also seem to keep a lot of the rasp out of the exhaust.
