ive had a tri ax shifter before on another car but how does this MAC one compare to it or the pro 5.0 one, well or any other shifter out there.....

I have a Tri-Ax and I love it... but it seems nothing is better than Pro 5.0. I've heard nothing but excellent things about them. Still a little biased towards my Tri-Ax tho

I have one,
came with my car.
It is very short (the handle) I think shorter then the others.
Good solid shifts though. I would go for it if you can get a really good deal- If not go with the pro 5.0- IMO the pro is the best

Is that shipped? For another 70 bucks or so you could get a Pro5.0 already, and in the grand scheme of things, its a drop in the bucket. I would get the 5.0 if you can.

I would stay away from MAC all together. They should stick to exhaust, and they don't really do that well.

Does the MAC shifter have thier logo on it? I think I have one because I traded my old MAC CAI for it and the guy told me it was MAC. What ever it is it is definatly a short shifter and I hated it but found out it was my clutch cable/quadrant that was the problem. Anyways It's on my old T-5 and I can't use it anymore. I'm going to get a pic and sell it once I find out exactly what it is.

One in ten people who try the MAC shifter like it. It isn't really the "racers choice", I guess. That would be the Pro5.0, and one in ten users don't like that one so it's a much better gamble. I'd rather pay $120 for a used Pro5.0 on ebay than a new MAC... obviously, since that's what I did. The only good thing about the MAC is the steel lever, but definately not Pro5.0 material- or even Tri-Ax for that matter; which I'd say is equally popular. The only thing I can figure about, since the Pro5.0 and Tri-Ax are so different, is that there are a lot of people out there who can't handle the truth. They don't really want to know what's going on in their tranny, so they get the babiesbuttsoftysmoothsteeda.

OOooohh stangbear, them's fighting words LOL. I would say, to those considering getting the babiesbuttsoftysmoothsteeda shifter, that my pro5.0 is pretty smooth too, so don't shy away from picking one up.

I know. They've started many fights before, I just can't help myself.
I have found that the only thing between a smooth Pro5.0 and a notchy one is driver ability. If you shift at the right time, it's smooth as silk. If not, it isn't. The beefier your tranny is, the worse it gets. Quite simply, the Pro5.0 tells you exactly what is happening in your transmission, and some people just don't want to know how good they aren't at shifting.
