I looked under a convertable today and saw factory sub frame connectors under there. They come standard on the Mach 1 too. Anyone use these in their GT's? Anyone have a P/N too. I can't find it at work.
I don't imagine most people would be using stock replacement subframes, weld in full length connectors are much better and probably about the same price or not much more.
The ones that are on the car from Ford are bolt on POS. Get a good set from MM or KB and weld them up. I had a set of the KB on my old GT and they were 10 times better than my stock ones now.
It makes a difference between my Mach and my old GT. My mach rattles and creeks much less. But if I were in the market for subframes, I'd go with another brand like MM or Kenny Brown etc. and not just the Ford stuff.
A little off topic but I have an 04 vert and I bought the MM subframes. I know I have sub frames from the factory, so do they need to be removed before welding in the new ones?
I've never been under there to see them so I don't know where they are....
Yes, the stock sfc's need to be removed - it's only 4 bolts and clips, though. There is really no comparison between welded full length and factory sfc's. My 2000 vert handles a lot better since the mm sfc's went in.
