Use the correct soft lines for the brake calipers you are using (IOW, if you have 2003 Mach 1 calipers, you need 2003 Mach 1 replacement soft lines). This will likely mean you need to use an adapter for the passenger side soft/hard line junction. Take your original lines into the parts store, figure out what thread they are by test fitting them with brake line fittings. That's exactly what I did, because I found that the common "brake line adapter" that a lot of Mustang parts outlets sell was NOT correct for my car.

Just did this. I ordered the adapter for the pass side from 5.0 resto and the stock 99-04 soft lines will work.

You can use any 99-04 brake line. You will need the adapter and correct banjo bolts.

All 99-04 lines are the same, so lines off a 00 V6 will work with a 04 cobra caliper.

When i had Mach 1 brakes on my 03 GT...i used the OEM GT lines. Fit fine. Now i'm using SS braided lines on my Fox with the same calipers

Why dont you want stainless, a kit is not too much more than having soft lines made, and used brake lines is something that makes me nervous

Stainless may not be in his budget at the moment. Bk can probably get the soft lines for dirt if not free.

New lines are cheap. I think I got my 99-04 lines new for $8 each or so.

I went stainless and sold them to a stangnetter here
