My wife got tired of her Expedition and decided that she wanted a Mustang. The 2000 3.8 I got her does not have the Mach stereo, which she became addicted to in her Expedition. She's worn me down and I've acquired the Mach 460 someone took our of their 2002 GT (they put in a bigger and badder aftermarket system).

I have everything EXCEPT the wire looms, which presents to significant problems. First, the boys at Ford have a listing of all the looms/harnesses for Mustang sound systems, but they can't tell me which one goes where or which ones I need. Second, Ford charges MY weight in gold for these looms. They will order them for me, but won't let me return them if they're wrong!

I have the Ford wiring diagram which contains the ID number of the connectors on the end of each loom. If I had a source where I could buy the connectors, I've made many looms in my time and would have no trouble making these.

I've checked with a dozen or so sources and haven't found a source yet. Can anyone tell me a source for the connectors? Or give me any information in general?

Thanks

I have a 95 which I upgraded to the Mach system. I found my front Mach wiring harness listed separately on eBay, and my rear Mach wiring harness came with the Mach rear speaker boxes & amps, which I also got off eBay.

Search for "Mustang (Mach, audio, radio) (wiring, harness)" or something similar, eventually someone will list one. I searched on eBay for ~month before I found mine, but the good thing is the entire system ended up costing me ~$300 + shipping. I paid $35 for the Mach front harness.

Just wondering, but I thought the 2000s had two DIN-sized head units in the console (like my 95, which has a separate CD player + a head unit w/cassette), and the 01-04s had a double-DIN sized head unit in the console? Or did you get the 01-04 center console A/C vents + radio bezel thing, too? The wiring harnesses will be different between the two years, as well, since the 02 only has connectors for a single double-DIN unit and the 00 has connectors for two DIN units.
