Have a few tech questions for the Mach 460 system in the 94-98 cars. I need to know what is the low pass x-over point going to the door speakers, and is their a high pass signal comming from the stock amp to the stock door tweeters, and if so at what frequncy, or does it only use the cap attached to the tweeter?

I believe the separate tweeter amp under the dash is crossed over inside of the amp itself and doesn't use an external or in-line crossover.

The tweeters are 300hz and up, doors are 300 hz and below. The woofers aren't wired in stereo, the tweeters are.

Someone very knowlegable wrote a whole thread about how the mach system is wired and its specs. Its much more in depth then the common info websites that people often link to. I'll see if I can find it and post a URL.

Thanks, I appreciate it I would like to leave the factory stereo and just enhance the sound a little. The previous owner put Lanzar 6x8 in the door and they have no mid bass, but they are hooked up to the tweeter wires. He also put Lanzar tweeters where the factory one were. I cant put anything up there that can handle 300hz and up so I am trying to figure out what I want to do I guess I can get a three way component system and use the 300hz and down signal to feed some 6.5's and put 5.25 components in the kick panels, but I want to keep it simple. Mabey I can just find some factory speakers.

Factory speakers would be your best bet if the system hasn't been cut up too much. I have read people think the mach 460 sucks, I drove a 2001 GT with the mach 460 and it didn't sound good, but the system in my 04 Mach 1 sounds great, wouldn't trade it for anything. I think age and use have alot to do with how good it sounds. Going with some new speakers should make it sound good again. Aside from that, you best off removing every mach 460 component and starting fresh. It is a pretty complicated audio system compared to almost anything aftermarket and it doesn't work well with non stock components.
