THere is a guy on the escort site that has a Eaton M62 blower rigged up to a a/c clutch unit so he can "boost with the press of a switch" LMFAO.

Some Mercedes have that, it’s a pretty cool setup, the tough part is making a clutch that small strong enough to handle it. Superchargers take a lot of force to turn.

All sorts of cars use things like that as Ferrari has something similar but it's used for keeping the fans, or the a/c etc from coming on above 6,000 rpm.

It's cool as heck you can still order the Mad Max cars and get them here in any trim level you want. Last year at the track a guy had one with supercharger, the whole 9 yards and was even right hand drive. It was a kick to see it run.

Notice that the engine doesnt seem any different with the clutch in... same idle speed, same time to rev, etc... probably an empty shell, with just the gear set turning inside the case for sound.
