MAF help - what fits, what doesnt, PRO-FLOW vs PRO-M?

PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!

I have a 94 GT with a BBK CAI and 19# injectors. (as well as 70mm TB, heads, cam, intake, etc etc)

Im looking at a PRO-FLOW 75mm Bullet MAF, i've been told only the Bullet ones fit with a CAI, is this what they mean by bullet i dont get it?

Also I can get a Pro-M 75mm MAF...will this work fine with my BBK CAI?

Which is a better unit, which will fit better?

Also the thing is the PRO-FLOW Is calibrated for 24# injectors, how would I switch it, ive been told you cant just get a sampling tube as that is only for C&Ls?

Pro Flow =ProM

it's the same company, but I have heard a few bad things about the bullet. I think their other meters have a much better reputation.

If it's calibrated for 24lb injectors, it's probably easier to just buy some used injectors. ProM will recalibrate it, but it will cost almost as much as the injectors.

Just look up pro m in google and you will find their web site. That should answer all of your questions.

If you have a commercial CAI that has a bend in the pipe directly before the MAF, then you might have trouble with a Pro-M 75mm Bullet. Other than that, it'll probably be fine -- I'm quite happy with mine.

i agree w/331 cobra on the bigger injectors. you've done the whole h/c/i business, so you should upgrade the fuel system. are you sure you're getting enough fuel?

i picked up a brand new set of fms 24# injectors off ebay for $155.

"bullet" is simply the name of the design. pro-m/pro-flow's other meters have a different design.

i don't have any experience w/the 75mm bullet, but i have had good experiences w/a regular 77mm pro-m calibrated for 19s and a shorty 77mm pro-m calibrated for 24s. i don't know if either of these models will work w/your bbk cai, though.

I was affraid of using my 75mm Bullet after my H/C/I swap. I had the Mac CAI and that meter would have bolted right on it. I'll be running in some idling issues shortly. I knew some people were having troubles with the Bullet/24pds injectors combo from the start. Thats what I'll be running. So I went for a proven meter, the Pro-M 80mm, and I'll bolt it to my homemade CAI. Everything will be perfect. Its only 199$ WITH the air filter, if you buy it from Pro-Flow.

From what I know, they're the same thing ! I would skip the 75mm and go for a pro-M 80mm, like I did, with a homemade CAI with NO BEND in it. The electronics (or calibration) are way better.

How so? I wasn't aware that the electronics varied between the different Pro-M meters. Killercanary seems to do okay (low 12's) with a Pro-M 75mm Bullet.

Yes he's doing ok with his meter. And Maybe I would of also. ANd you know how many PM's I've sent you about the mass air meter. I dont know what it is, but there's something that makes those 75mm bullet fail. Calibration ?? Dont know. But why suggest something to him that we all know had problems with the 24pds calibration/SN95. Some people get away with it, some dont. I've never heard one complaint about the Pro-M 80mm.

He didnt buy yet... Still time for him to do the right thing.

the bullet meters have problems apparently, and its usually when calibrated for 24#ers so ive found....i went with the Pro-M 80mm and a homemade CAI and wouldnt ever do it another way....

As is generally the case for most of us, no matter what we choose . I'm happy with my Bullet 75mm, and wouldn't do it any other way either. Funny how that works.

your right....ive just found the 75's to be hit or miss....and i dont know of any probs with the 77 or 80....

Couldnt I just stick my BBK Filter (cone shaped one that came with my BBK CAI) on the end (left side) and attach the other end to my CAI, wouldnt that work well?

but what if its not setup for the bend in the pipe, wouldnt it just be best to put the BBK filter/K&N on the left side end and attach the rest to the existing bbk cai?

Also another thing, my bbk does have the flange and this doest like someone said I will have to cut off the end of my bbk BUT THEN I wont have a blue rubber silicone hose to slide over the other end on the CAI...where would I find somthing like that which would match and not look bad?

ProM has a 'special' calibration for CAI. And they also sell the flanged Bullet meter. At least that's what's on the web site.
