MAF or Aluminum Driveshaft... What Next?

I vote for the driveshaft for now. Because if you get serious with the turbo you will need to change injectors in the future and require a recalibration of the MAF sensor. Right now either will not give much in the way of horsepower, but the aluminum driveshaft will reduce vibration and loose a few pounds of rotating mass off the drivetrain. My car was a night and day difference between the stock and aluminum driveshaft. By far the best drivetrain upgrade for all around performance and smoothness.

Regardless of what you do to the car N/A or w/ a power adder a 75,77,76MM are all good sizes, most of the time 80 and 83MM are used for Supercharged/turbo applications.

I vote MAF. An aluminum driveshaft wont do a whole lot for you with basic mods. If you outgrow any MAF you buy now, you can sell them very easily. Plus, you can feel and you pick up quite a push from the MAF. The d/s wont do much for you.

I wouldn't do either one, save the $$$ for that turbo you want. I didn't do my MAF until well after my H/C/I swap, and I did not see any noticable improvement... so the stock MAF isn't *that* big of a restriction. My car already had an aluminum driveshaft when I bought it so I can't say if that made any difference...
