maf sensor compatability?

That would be a no...

I think JRichker has posted a list of MAF meters before. I think?

A MAF from ANY 94-95 Mustang will work very well, but there is some conversion work you would need to do.

im not looking for any conversion just plug and go

well...its not that much work. and it is kinda "plug and go" the only thing you need is an adapter so your intake tubing will attach to the MAF.

try car-parts.com and search for a 90lx "air flow meter"....it will show you junkyards in your area that have them. it searches by part number (i think) so it will also bring up vehicles other than a 90lx.

i found this little list jrichker (very helpful guy :nice: ) posted on another thread i was watching. it lists the OEM part numbers and the vehicles they came on.

i think i just found one on corral.net for 25 bucks, freakn awesome if its the right one

What are you getting? A 55MM stocker or a '94-'95 70 MM version?

If not mentioned, the Sticky link (sticky link doesnt sound too good :p ) has a thread about the retrofit if needed.

Good luck.

its a stock one but im thinking i can customize the housing and either port it or cut out the sensor part and remake it to my intake

Bad idea. Don't hose with the MAF and MAS (to use Jason's terminology, which I like).
If you want to remove an inlet restriction, use a correct MAF/MAS assembly that is unaltered. The 94-95 MAF/MAS would have done this well for you.

Good luck.

What he said :nice:

The MAF and MAS are matched very exactly to each other.

Even removing the screen from a stock 55mm MAF tube can affect its accuracy.

The best (and also very cheap) way to remove restriction due to MAF diameter is the 94-95 Mustang 70mm MAF/MAS.
Here is the thread from the 'Tech Thread Index'

If you can use 19lb injectors, this is worth a couple of hp, even on a stock 5.0

thanks for the info, ill just use this one until i gather up some more cash and ill just upgrade later to a bigger one and bigger injectors, get some ignition work going, but all in all thanks for the help, i just ordered one from another forum for 30 buck from a 90 5.0, so restrictive yes but hey at least it will fix my idle and start up problem
