Magnaflow Magnapack Mufflers

If the exhaust shop has the right equipment, they can flair the pipe out gradually to get it up to 2.5" from 2.25". They being said, its going to sound like crap, girlgle and pop a bit as well. Mandril bent 2.5" all the way out from the stock H is the only way to go.

Are you trying to put the Magnapacks in WITH the Flowmasters or replace the Flows with the Mangnapacks ?

replace the flowmasters with the magnapacks, I noticed my x pipe is 2 1/2 and my flowmaster mufflers are 2 1/2, but my stock catback and flowtubes are smaller so their 2 1/4

The stock H should be 2.25". The pipes that bolt to the stock H can be 2.5" no problem. I would NOT put Magnapacks in to replace the Flows. I just replaced Magnapacks that the PO had on my Mach with regular Magnaflows. I am WAY happier. They were just WAY too loud. Plus the jackass didn't take it to a decent shop so it had crush bent pipes instead of mandril bent....

Magnapacks are just supposed to be used for resonators/glasspacks, they are not a true muffler at all. If you drive your car every day, the drone/grigle/pop is going to get old fast. If it is a weekend car, then maybe you should go for it if all you are looking for is the sound.

i think you misunderstood me

I have on the car right now

bbk o/r x pipe which is 2 1/2 inch going into 2 1/2 inch 2 chamber flowmasters, I want to replace the flowmasters with magnapack mufflers basically cutt and weld new mufflers in, i know their not offset like the flowmasters so a muffler shop will have to customize them in with mendrel bent tubing, the only problem im wanting to know is well i notice a difference in sound since i got stock catback which is 1/4 inch thinner than what my x pipe and NEW muffler will be, I dont have the money to buy the full cat back kit from magnaflow so i just want to weld in the magnapack mufflers by themselfs with what my car has on it right now, I looked under my car and from what my eyes see I have 2 1/2 inch xpipe going into 2 1/4 flowtubes, than the flowtubes are going into 2 1/2 flowmasters, than it goes back to 2 1/4 till you get to the tail pipes which are 2 1/2 so two sections of my exhaust are 2 1/4 **flowtubes - catback** the rest is 2 1/2, i've used this setup for 7 years now and enjoyed it i just dont see a point in paying $469 for 1/4 inch thicker pipe when its cheaper to just buy the mufflers??

since you said a muffler shop can make the 2 1/2 work regardless, I see the have two choices in the magnapack mufflers

2 1/4 and 2 1/2 but i dont know which one to get since a muffler shop can make either one work

OK, I see what you got going on now. I gota say, I'm surprised if you don't have gurgle constantly in your exhaust system. That would drive me nuts.

Yes, you have an an exhaust shop hack and whack in the Magnapacks and it will work just fine but I don't think it will sound good.

The benifits to running 2.5" exhaust all the way out is the power and better sound. The exhaust will flow more smoothly with all 2.5" pipe resulting in a better tone and a more free flow resulting in an easier breathing motor at the top end. You can always buy the Magnapacks now and put them on later when you have enough money to do it right. Nothing wrong with the "backyard financing plan".

Its all about what you want.

Short answer, yes it can be made to fit with what you have.

Im getting a gargle popping sound now, wasnt that bad with the old h pipe and flowmasters but switching to x pipe made it horrible, everytime i shift it gurgles and pops, after talking i think im just gonna get the whole kit that way its all free flowing
