who has one? Would you buy it again? Any problems with it moving around or coming loose from the car? Paint damage? I read all the search posts but there was really no feedback other than having them.

I'm thinking about ordering one. Are they all the same mfg'er and sold from different retailers or are there different ones out there?

Also, last part, is the American Muscle $49.99 too much to pay for a cut-out magnet or is it really that quality of a piece?

I have the one from 50resto (latemodelrestoration.com) and to be honest i'm happy with it as it is not perminent. The biggest problem was when I received it, it was folded up so I had to lay it on the side of my fridge for a couple days then put it on the car in the sun and it finally layed flat although I do have on bubble but that's not a big deal (only had it for a couple weeks)

I have one also. As with 89 Coupe, mine came in a very small box, folded up from 50 resto. But it fits perfect and even tucks under the fake gas cap. Best 50 bucks you can spend for apperance mods!

They look good, but I've heard of long term damage. Pulling paint and also dirt getting stuck in between the panel and the trunklid, again causing paint damage.

Everytime I wash the car, I pull it up and atleast spray it off with water. I've had it off a couple times, and there are not scratches or paint defects from it. I would be more worried with the 3M sticky tape ones, seeing it's not removable and water can get trapped in the cracks and corners, causing rust.

Taken care of properly as Dawg does will greatly help. There are pros and cons to just about everything. Just have to decide if you can live with both. I would have gotten the magnetic one, but I love the old school honeycomb look:nice: I can also agree on the low investment yielding a great look gained attitude!

Definitely. Just be careful. Magnets can pull small metal particles through the paint. 3M tape is fully removable, BTW. But hey, if it really ruins it, you can get the panel painted black.

+1! If you like the looks of it after it's on and $50 is definitely worth it to me to try something out. Have it painted and then no worries:nice:

I'm going to disagree. I bought one and stuck it on the car and thought it looked even cheaper than it was. It was so naff that after a day I had to pull it off. I would have put it in the bin there and then but gave it away to another Mustang owner who tried it and came to the same conclusion.

The GOOD thing that came out of it was it confirmed that I wanted a panel out back to break up the silver (didn't want stripes) so I bought the Silver Horse Racing panel which is a beautiful quality piece and everything the fridge magnet isn't. You pay for what you get IMHO.
This is the magnet

Disclaimer: ...which is not to say it doesn't look beautiful on your car and everything you ever dreamed of. ;)

Thanks for all the input -

I decided to try one, I think it was PDawg's pictures that made me do it. That is night and day difference in the attitude of your car. I think it looks great.

I like the idea of being able to take it off to wash (and clean behind). I daily drive my car and we get PLENTY of foul weather in this city...

Have one too,,.... Just got it off EBAY for 35 including shipping, best mod ever done ..LOL let it sit on my fridge for an hour or so while i played World Of Warcraft and then put it on the car.. DONE ! Its that freaking easy... looks great, the weather is ****A or else I would post some pics !
