First of all, make sure when you buy a used one, it has been returned to stock. Otherwise it will be VIN locked to the vehicle it was on, and of no use to you.
Some "people" are using them to build a tune for their cars, and then selling them on Ebay. No good to anybody. As far as mail order tunes, they always build them on the "rich" side. Its the safe way to go.

Im aware of that and know to make sure its unlocked. Im just trying to see if it will be cheaper in the end to buy a used xcal2 and get a tune or 2 than buying a new one.

I would think it would be at least 100-150 for a mail order tune and thats just a guess. Depending on how nuch you get the tuner for is it worth the savings to not have a warrenty on it? Also judging by your sig your stang is pretty stock so a tune wouldnt be worth much. Get a throttle body, plenium, full exhaust and gears before a tune.

JMS did my tuning back in the day and I will be soon needing a new one after I install the pi heads. I'm sure there is some tuner that has sent out a tune for a pi head, cam and intake NPI or if not--one that is willing to work with me while I datalog and such.
