Maine Way up north?

Anyone involved in a car club, ride night, anything, in the Maine, NH, Mass area? i really want a place to check out parts, cars, etc, talk to some people 1st hand? Nothing better than seeing and hearing a set of after market exhaust setups in person...You know what I mean...

I'm not aware of any active Mustang clubs based up here in the great white north, but here is a link to a "Predominantly" Mustang website based in Mass. Distance would make get togethers with them a bit challenging, but they do frequent N.E. Dragway if you're in to that. There are a few guys on it who also post here, me for example. They had talked in an older thread about coming up for Bonney Eagle. I am going as long as the weather is good.

Where exactly are you from? Going to Fun Ford weekend and Tasca Day at New England dragway is a great way to see and hear other cars. Those two events will be in late summer.
Bonney Eagle show is the official start of the car show season here and the biggest event I know of in Maine. All sorts of cars to check out plus a lot of rednecks.

York county Quebec...aka Biddeford.

I went to Tasca two years ago, good time. I didn't run but I watched most of the day. Tasca had a GT500 with nitrous that was unbelieveable.

You're right about Bonney Eagle, everyone (for better or worse) comes out of the woodwork. Weather can be iffy but last year was perfect.

Where in Maine are you?

Myself and Gaslight belonged to a Mustang club up here in Maine a few years ago but things fell apart due to members moving away and others selling their cars.

Go figure....I haven't seen pics of your car but I do make mental notes of cars of interest when I see them around here. We must not have bumped into each other when we both were in our Stangs yet.

Any time this summer you've got the itch to take a local cruise let me know. We are always looking for reasons to get out.

yeah i am right in Scarborough, I just started working at Prime Toyota this week actually. Well i just found out my buddy with the show car sold it, and bought a 07' GT500 so i know he is in for a cruise night or 2.

We are trying to get my buddies 03 lightning rebuilt for ford weekend. He pulled a 12.9 last time on Street radials...but blew it up this past fall, so he ordered a 1000hp (capable) Roush Lower this winter...Should be a fun Weekend thats for sure...

I might have seen his car. There was a SN-95 at an RV place in Saco with a FS sign in it last year. I think it was Mystichrome paint, definately had lambo doors.

Big envious sigh for the GT-500 purchase. That's my "someday" car.

I work in Scarborough near Cabellas. But I travel quite a bit during the day so I don't bring the Bullitt to work much during the three weeks of summer we get up here.

Love the lightning trucks, even the first gens. There is a guy two doors down with a very clean red one, good weather driven only. He actually is the one who got me into the Zaino polishes I now swear by.

I've seen a nasty looking dark blue 03 around york county, is that the one you are talking about?

Ahh the dreaded hissing noise......Exhausting subject.

I went back into the SSoM thread and found a few pics of the car, very nice.

It sounds like between SSoM cars and potential cars from the HPR site there could be a decent turnout at Bonney Eagle this year. I'm hoping my son will be up from Myrtle Beach to go also.

Hopefully we can get a good showing at the Bonney Eagle show. There were 8 SSOM cars at one point but now there is only 3 left here in Maine and 4 total.

I try to avoid Biddeford when I'm in my car. The cops are pricks over there. I talk to a guy who use to be a cop over there and he said he remembered my car and kept an eye out for me just waiting for me to screw up. He really wanted to nail me in part because of my license plate. He even says the cops over there have gotten worse since he left the force a few years ago.
The car only comes out on occasion during the summer months. Right now its on jack stands while I replace the stock brakes with some Baer disc brakes all the way around.

Yeah that hissing noise mentioned above is what gives me all that power. Actually it used to be a loud shrill shrieking noise when I hit 10psi. Its quieter now and thats the way I like it.
