major oil leak $5,000 later...sucks

oil leaks around the oil pan cause when i changed the top end i wanted to do some extra work i guess....motor needs to be out to completely change the gasket and now i cant get the two front bolts in for the pan to block....any suggestions?

I spend a little over 4k doing my top end guys. Thats because I throw out basically everthing under the hood and bought all new stuff except for the ps pump and short block. But yeah every sensor and everything else. Maybe thats how he spent 5k

yeah thats how i spent five geeeees...what do you guys buy everything from boneyards?????? power costs $

does that include paying for install???? you can buy a BRAND NEW TF top end kit for about $2400.... thats why i'm asking... just seems pretty steep if you ask me. like mentioned before, you could buy a crate engine for close to that much $$, that puts down some serious hp!

Yeah Im very lost on this one. #1 motor doesnt have to come out. #2 check you PCV system for restriction and blowing old oil seals out, and most importantly #3 wheres the crook that has you $5,000 so we can beat him senseless and have a ragging keg party and a track for half a day....... .

I understand that, Ive easily got $3,000 in mine and have the stock bottom end. Heads cost me $1,100, Victor JR intake (ebay) $100, roller rockers, $200, guideplates and hardened pushrods $150, Holly 750 (friend) $200, March billet pulley drive $300, Long tube headers $300, complete MSD Ignition w/dizzy (new and used) $350, Polised alum sheet metal valve covers $75........Owning a Mustang that eats LS1's and vettes for breakfast...Priceless. Hell thats not even all and Im at $2,975, **** that adds up. But yeah I didnt get the picture he had all that. It seemed like he had to spend $5,000 to get it fixed or it cost him that much. If he just put that motor top end on and is now having oil leaks and didnt before I bet he's got a restricted PCV system, LOL or left the oil pan bolts loose like some one else on here......

Yeah, you guys dont read any other posts I guess. read my post up above and then read his post below it. He spent 5k redoing everything just as i did. It is very possible to spend 5k. He spent 5k cleaning and redoing everything, its VERY easy to spend that much to do it once and do it RIGHT, so stop knockin the guy for doing it. Or should I get my folder out with all my receipts for all the sensors and everything thing else I bought? Yeah, I did everything myself so labor cost equal zero dollars and I still have the so called ****ty 302 stock shortblock. I cant beleive you guys are raggin on this guy for doin what he did. Yeah, sure you can buy a built 331 for 5k. You still gonna have to buy upper and lower intake, fuel injectors, tb and egr, fuel pump, maf, ETC,ETC,and ETC. Boom! Now your up another 1500-2k for more supporting mods and thats if you reuse your old BS sensors and and other 20 year old alternator and etc under the hood. DO you know how much extra money you will wind up spending? Guess you didnt think of that huh? dont be so quick to rag on someone without thinkin.
